Wow was this moving a let down...
I am almost speechless, so I thought I would just start the thread :(

I enjoyed it a lot. It reminded me more of playing HalfLife 2 than watching a movie, very interesting cinematography.
Very different from the other 3 though, not very Cameron-esq (and Mostow did a pretty good job keeping #3 similar to the other 2.

It was.... OK.
I failed to hate it.
On par with Wolverine.

That's a real shame.
How was Bale?

I liked it, I agree with Kelraz, the second I saw the arm bands I thought of HL-2. Was good over all, and it set up nicely for the inevitable sequels.

Can't say I was a huge fan of Bale in that role in particular. Not sure he was the right one for it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either in my opinion.

I have not seen it yet, but I would believe even Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory" would have made the movie more watchable than Bale, based on the scattered previews I have seen.

It was fun to watch. Not great, but worth seeing on a big screen I'd say.
Bale did more of his "I'm Batman now!" voice, which didn't really fit. Its like he wants that to be his voice from now on. Bleh.
I liked and was rooting for Marcus more than John Connor, which is one of the parts where the movie fails, and... made the ending more bittersweet for me than was probably intended.
There were a few things that kinda took me out of the movie too... like having special music every time one of the terminator's that we recognize shows up. It reminded me of playing a video game and reaching a boss fight. Great for a game, dumb for a movie. Well, for this type of movie anyway.

Did they really have to use the line **Come with me if you want to live** again in this movie.. :(

If you had more imagination, you'd understand how profound and important this movie is!

I enjoyed this movie, only because I expected it to be mediocre. I went to see robots and special effects. I was not disappointed. The original ending would have been 100 times more amazing. There was literally tons of holes in the story. Id say it was about as good as T3. Which is to see a great distance from T1 or T2.
As for Bale, he played the same role he always does...Batman...in Terminator.

Truth be told, the DP screwed up big time there and probably deserved to have his ass chewed a bit. Since a movie isn't shot in 2 hours and rarely shot sequential, actors need to get into character before every take. Sometimes it can take them a long time to build to the emotional state that the character would have been in given the scenario. If the lights look off, you wait for a cut and move the lights around and do it again - you absolutely shouldn't EVER monkey with anything during a take.
Sure, he could have been way more diplomatic about it, but maybe he was building into an intense scene and had a lot of emotion piled up. Getting distracted while you are working though, anyone can appreciate how frustrating that is.
(Not defending his acting ability or how well he did in this movie, which he really didn't do, just defending his outburst on set)

Behold...Transforminators.
I also don't believe in excusing childish behavior just because people are rich. Also he was just batman the entire movie, it should not have taken him long to get in character.

He just acted out a scene probably weeks or months before that went immediately before this one. In between that he had weeks or months of working 6 days a week, 14 hours a day, on different material in different orders. In order to even remember the scene that preceded this one, and get his actual mental state to match that which his character should be feeling, it would take hours I'd imagine.
Often on set you'll see actors/actresses sitting alone crying or yelling to imaginary people an hour before they are due to perform to prepare themselves.
Haven't you ever been really mad for some reason and took it out on the wrong person? How is that hard to comprehend. I am sure he built up tons of emotion, the DP did something he absolutely shouldn't have done, and with all that emotion Bale overreacted. There's a reason Shane hasn't gotten a job since, yet Bale has no shortage of work.

Because Bale works in front of the camera and Shane is just 'one of the cogs'?

I'm afraid you are just making incorrect assumptions based on absolutely no knowledge at all on what happens on a set. A DP is really 3rd in command on a set (behind producer and director) and paid better than the stars. If he wasn't a fuckup and make such glaring mistakes he'd hardly be having the problems he is now.

You are out of your mind if you think a DP makes more money per movie than someone like Christian Bale. Out of your mind.
Also the star brings in the money. Outside of Hollywood the masses have no fucking clue who the DP is. So yeah, they pretty much cater to the star, because they are paying him 10+ million a film and hes making them 10's of millions. Yeah I have been on a few sets as well.

... all this based on your obvious lack of any real knowledge. The DP not only gets stellar union pay and massive amounts of overtime but they also get the rental on every piece of lighting equipment on the set. To be honest, you are really ignorant on this topic and I'm gonna stop discussing this with you until you learn how to fact check.

I'm not going to argue with you on this, but big stars make more than DP's. My point was that DP's are not as important to a studio as the talent, since the talent is what brings in the dollars. Not sure how you can possibly disagree with me.

Every set I have ever worked on, the DP was about as high on the food chain as the director... I never once saw talent speak to a DP in a negative way.

I will put it to you this way, which one of the two are still going to be working? Bale. Is Bale a fucking wanker . Yes, but he is famous, the DP is not.
