Terra Nova

I do enjoy this show. A Land of the Lost meets Lost in Space type feel to it. You get a healthy mix of reptile enemies but also human conflict so it doesn't feel like you are watching Jurassic Park for an hour a week.

Basic Plot: Earth is dying in the year 2100ish, the enviroment is not sustainable for humans without a lot of expensive measures. A worm hole anomily was found that lets them go back in time 85 million yeears to a new earth that is lush. The show centers on the Shannon family, a Cop, a doctor and their three kids.

Ringer

Ok by no means does this show have great acting. Sarah Michele Gellar feels like she is playing Buffy who excaped being a Slayer.

What this show does have is enough plot twists to not be gimicky but to keep you on your toes and not get bord very easily.

Basic Plot: A girl witnesses a murder and is in WitSec because the man is a high value organized crime guy with a reputation of killing all the people who would testify. The girl runs away from WitSec due to fear and goes to meet her estranged twin sister who is married to a rich guy. The rich guy and all of the rich twins friends have no idea she has a twin. The rich twin takes the fugitive out on a boat, drugs her and when the fugitive wakes up realizes the rich on committed suicide. The fugitive then makes the decision to assume the life of the rich twin.

There is a lot of spoilers along the way I left out that could make the plot seem weak, but overall I am enjoying this show.

Honestly, I'm starting to fade on Terra Nova. The characters are so flat, and I know they're trying to have this mystery and all the intrigue of Lost, but they just don't have the characters and personalities to get behind.

The other Spielberg show, Falling Skies, however was fantastic.

Whoa... I thought Falling Skies was terrible and find Terra Nova has much better actors. To each his own I guess

Terra Nova had like, 50x the budget, so the actors and quality are probably staggeringly higher ... but the characters are just so flat, it really bothers me.

I'm getting a bit tired of shows trying to be the next Lost, by letting out 5 questions and 1 answer every episode and not offering much substance or any of that. Maybe its just me though.

Nah I really liked the premier of Terra Nova but since I haven't been able to get into the episodes. They are so mind-numbingly predictable :(

I don't think it's the acting as much as the writing. There were so many hooks in that first episode and they are barely touching on them in the following episodes...well I haven't seen this week's yet but I've been disappointed since the premier.
