LOL....they worry about his lack of military service. There should be compulsory service in this country, but you'd still be rejected Elren.

I agree their should be some sort of required service. It should not be just military service but for those like myself who could not join the military due to medical disqualification they should have other government/civil service jobs. Learn a skill have a job get some training then move on to the public sector. Almost sounds like Starship Troopers, Serving Guarantee's Citizenship!

I think everyone but Elren should be given a choice whether it be a peace corp type placement, community service or Army, Navy or Airforce conscript. Elren can keep doing what he's doing, kind of like a retarded version of the USO, entertaining in a weird sort of way.

I'm thinking they should drop Elren over in the Gaza strip, where he could then explain his views on their history to them.

Too bad they did not show similar polls for our other past Presidents. Nixon's poll would have interested me, along with Reagan's and Carter's and Clinton's.
Of course, we all know how polls are conducted and questions tested on focus groups before ever being used. I wonder how many different ways that poll can be skewed by some talented political operatives.

The trolling will stop when you all stop taking the bait.
Regarding the survey, is anyone really shocked? The military has a tendency to be pro-Republican, and how many people who voted against Obama are going to feel confident in his abilities?

speaking from experience with this particular troll he doesn't ever stop.
His lies get bigger and more outrageous. Now he claims to speak for other rangers on the server ( most who I either still game with or have contact with ;p ).
I'm all for 2 year required service for everyone. Be it Peace corps, military or some variation of the TVA.

I was looking for the poll option and can't find it, perhaps we should poll the community to ask if we should allow Elren to post outside of FFA. I can't help but think he'd be the only vote for him being allowed to post.

I was looking for that as well, and it seems to have disappeared; of course, I may be just imagining that it existed before.

Re the poll, look at the numbers on it. It's totally meaningless. They probably had some sort of self-volunteering process .. the kind that virtually guarantees you get people with strong opinions instead of a realistic sampling.

'The trolling will stop when you all stop taking the bait.'
- Actually, no, it won't. The true and tested way is to have as much fun with them as possible, and they usually run off crying.

I must admit, not until lvl52 did I actually use my mez. And I wouldn't buff anyone for under 50pp.
But that's just quirky, not sure I'd call it 'bad', per se.

So why was I paying you 100pp if you would have buffed for 50? Hindsight is 20/20!

Demand the return of 50pp per buff Rover!!
I know this was off topic, but there was nothing prettier than a room full of mezzed mobs with the group flawlessly taking them out one by one .... :) That picture STILL puts a smile on my face (as a cleric) :)

Hey Bise :)
That too was one of the most satisfying bits for me in EQ (as an Enchanter) - those moments that you thought you were goners for sure where your clerics and tanks manage to keep it together (often sacrificing themselves in the process) long enough to get the lockdown on and save the wipe (...or precariously juggled, as was the case a couple of times in the old Hate where I had 10 or so mobs and was thanking my lucky stars that a couple were clerics I could hit for mana). I gauged my guild's (and CoFE's, /salute) trust in me by how willing our clerics were willing to throw themselves on the heal agro pyre keeping me alive to pull us out of the fire, but yeah, turning the mother of all Disco or Chardok skeleton trains into grist for the exp mill was pretty fun, too.
I'll never forget, however, the first time I was exposed to the awesome, capricious power of AE mez though - in the old CT, when we (in low 20s) and another group camping the courtyard got trained by someone running out of the maze with possibly every lizard in that area on their tails; I and their bard both threw/sang our AE Mezzes, and for brief flashes bracketed by chaos, the entire courtyard turned into a sea of blue-wreathed, rhythmically-swaying lizards... in the end it turned out to be too much for us and we wiped, but what an exciting wipe that was ;).
On buff-selling, I hated it and refused to do it, figuring I was taking bread out of my or another enchanter's mouth - as especially in the later game, when the importance of mezzes (and charms) was greatly reduced, it was common practice to ask for a KEI (later VoQ) in the Nexus and then just not group a dead-weight enchanter ;). Of course, *some* people intentionally set up enchanters as KEI vending machines, especially before they level capped it (and it was particularly entertaining hearing the pleas from level 4 *necromancers* before they put the level cap in that they 'needed' KEI and were willing to pay implausible amounts of gold for it ;) ).
On the topic that started this thread, I think trying to assign significance to those survey results is to make something out of nothing: (think someone linked this already, but excerpting anyway)
In keeping with previous surveys, nearly half of the respondents described their political views as conservative or very conservative. Slightly more than half said they consider themselves Republicans, 22 percent independents and 13 percent Democrats.
Peter Feaver, a political science professor at Duke University who has written extensively about civil-military relations, said a degree of uncertainty among service members toward Obama is appropriate, given their questions about how he will govern as commander in chief.
“Those numbers don’t convince me he has got a big problem on his hands because what he is seeing is not military hostility, but rather military caution, and caution that is reasonable because he has never been in the position of this office,” Feaver said. “It’s sensible and understandable that they have doubts about him.
Considering how badly our *last* Commander in Chief screwed them over, I'd be cautious (but cautiously optimistic, how much worse could it be) too.
My dad sent me this same link in his weekly anti-Obama propaganda barrage, along with a montage of police mugshots of people wearing Obama t-shirts, a two-tone orange metallic pimpmobile 'presidential limo'; and in weeks past his offerings have included the mentioned citizenship non-controversy, Michelle Obama measuring the White House windows for plywood, and Obama as a shoe-shine boy (shining Sarah Palin's shoes). I like a good political cartoon when I see one, but the anti-Obama political lampooning from the right has pathetic, primitive, mean-spirited, racist, and sad. If nothing else, I'll be glad when he's in office and we see political cartoons based on his *actions*, and what comes out once the bloom is off the sanctified rose...
Regards,
Nydia

I always considered myself having earned my guild's stripes when one of the first trips we took to Plane of Air I somehow, accidently, without opening my eyes, managed to CC the entire bird island. In-game I very much acted naturally, of course this is how *I* do it, but behind my computer I had pretty much wet myself, having hardly used mez much at all before that point, to be honest. The sweat was dripping into my eyes and I spent the entire 9 minutes screaming.
Good times :P
