Lee Atwater, former Chairman of the republican party and advisor to both Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush, invented what is known as the southern strategy for the republican party candidates.
He said and I quote:
You start out in 1954 by saying, "Nigger, nigger, nigger." By 1968 you can't say "nigger" -- that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff.
I guess now we can add ACORN to that. Watch the video and remember that the teabaggers were in Washington before the current ACORN employee fake scandal.
