Buh-bye, Kim Jong Il...... happy trails to you, and hope you burn in hell for a really really really long time.

Now, what will we see in North Korea in the coming years? Will there be any change in the anti-West posturing, or any softening that will allow more aid to flow to the people that have been suffering and starving for so many years?

It is going to get interesting in that region, at the least.

Unfortunately, I don't think anything will change either.

Strange that he died the same day as Vaclav Havel though. Such polar opposites.

That country is too brainwashed. The dynasty will continue, only with a 20 year old punk running it. It won't end until the North Koreans have had enough.

I predict chaos in that region soon. The only way for the youngster to garner respect/support from his military leaders is start a conflict. Hopefully N Korea don't unleash hell on the South and wipe out the entire peninsula.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

They'll do some saber rattling, but I doubt they'll try to start a major conflict.

Well fight that war by sending in Paris Hilton along with the Kardasians. Game over.

OMG!!! Do you think we could convince the U.N. to let us air-drop them, and maybe toss in Lohan and the cast of Jersey Shores, or would it be considered inhumane? Would be a great way to eliminate several problems at once.

two words, Justin Bieber.

On the serious side, not sure much will change. There is an ideology that is installed i that country that I am not sure that man alone was keeping active. I do think that things will slowly start to erode now and eventually change but I still think we are a decade or two from that being a real sign of change.

The NK ruling class lives in such a disconnected reality that I don't think it's practically possible to really guess what they'll do. All the rules that game runs under don't involve what's going on out here, we're just a bunch of a people they keep scaring just enough to get aid packages.

Actually the ruling caste represent the select few people in NK that have exposure to the outside world. This kid running the show now has been educated in Europe and has traveled quite a bit. Plus there is probably high speed internet with no filters and plenty of television stations to view from around the world at the Kim Jong estate. There is no question that they know what they are doing 100% of the time and are 100% in touch with reality.

They will ride the ride as far as it will carry them, just like in the Middle East. They are like any other dictator who gets to live a very wealthy life at the expense of their subjects and whoever else they can swindle money from. The international community doesn't care if the aid goes to the people as long as the nukes don't get sold on the open market or used on the South.
