Who's with me?!

At least a foot of snow out there already - mass train cancellations, guess who's now planning to sit in his underwear all day and watch Frasier re-runs?!?!

We're having a heat wave here it's 37 and the snow/ice has been melting the past two days. Please keep that shit over there with you; I've had enough. :) And damn Phil for seeing his shadow.

PPFFFFFTTTTT... a foot thats it?!!

We have 4 feet on the lawn with another storm headed our way for later this week.

The only time Ottawa shuts down for snow is for the major storms that blow through, usually anything above 40 - 50 cm forecast.

I guess the U.K. doesn't have the snow removal equipment we have on hand, nor do you probably invest in good winter tires, a must for Canadian winter driving.

Have fun in the snow Halo!

Cheers,

Good winter tires? Couldn't even get the car out of the drive today.

We have wind, rain, and mist, but very rarely snow, so we're useless at it! :P

Been sledging all day - great fun!

Luckily I'm in Atlanta this past week, but from what I hear, everyone back home has been sitting around most of last week. The snow won't usually stop us, but a 3 inch ice storm? That shuts things down pretty fast.

My county has the equipment to deal with snow, but no snow...I think the most we've had accumulate was 4 inches. We'll trade you Halo! :p

I was just happy the freeways closed up for a bit this year. Luckily we are all thawed out and 45 degree's at the moment. The warmest its been in months.

Well, Saturday it was 46 and I started up the bike; couldn't resist a quick one on JANUARY31!!!

Sunday we dropped into the 20's, but one of the guys wives decided it was still nice enough to take the car through the car wash.

Today, with the wind-chills and steadily dropping temps, he had to crawl through the trunk to get into the vehicle; everything was frozen solid.

Hope ya' have a nice day of mindless telly with a nice bottle of wine to keep you company, Halo.

And, I hope all those poor souls in Kentucky get some relief soon; they were talking like it might be into "weeks" before all have power restored.

They're all crazy Akom. High was somewhere around 77 and sunny today today. I wish I'd taken the day off to go ride.

My extended family wants me to join them to go ski for a few weekends this month. Unfortunately, as my "Why I like ACER Laptops" story describes why, I now have an unreasoning fear of mountain roads.

Its a gorgeous day here in Colorado. We haven't really had all that much snow this winter though we've had a couple of cold streaks.

Its funny, that much snow would shut DC down too. Some people just can't handle driving in snow for some reason.

I remember one time in college that classes were canceled on the threat of snow, which never came. If I was still NE of Philadelphia, you'd need at least a foot of snow to cancel school and even then my dad would still go to work.

We've had about a foot so far here today and it's business like normal.

Crossing my fingers tho, atm the power is fluctuating due to the heavy wet snow at such a rapid rate playing hob with the power lines.

I have relatives in Alaska and Michigan...they never close down for several feet of snow.

On the other hand, rumors that someone saw a snowflake in the air somewhere in Phoenix cause this city go to nuts.

Snow stopped. We have pretty severe flooding now though down here in the South. Bloody foreign weather fronts... it's the Russians, they're engineering it all - the Russians I tell you!!!

Well, I got through Heathrow on friday easily enough. The tube in the terminal was on BBC (of course), showing snow amounts that must be alot for the UK but would make a good majority people from New England just shrug. The airport itself just had some slush here and there but it made alot of people cancel their travel plans. The plane still got the de-icing treatment and it was snowing at a decent clip when it took off, but it wasn't sticking. The Triple-7 I rode in back to DC was only maybe 1/3 filled so you could have whole rows to yourself on the big wide body jet since the snow scared everyone off. Having got back into the DC Metro area, it seems like its spring already with highs scraping 70 degrees. It made me really want to get one of the bikes out of storage. Too bad the tags are up on both of them.
