I need some advice. I spend many an hour browsing toothpastefordinner's live journal random image generator. Lately I've been seeing more and more child pornography coming up on there.

I reported the ones I've come across and the journals have been deleted. I don't think that's enough. I want to see these sick fucks prosecuted. How do I go about doing that?

Also, how do I clean any remnants of those images out of my computer? I don't want any part of that kind of thing in here.

Depends. If the server is hosted in the us where the journal is posted then they can possibly track down the person and nab them. If it is in europe like most of the stuff there looks like then you are pretty much sol unless you live there.

Its true... the sad fact of the matter is that there are a lot of sick people in the world and many of them don't live in places where the internet is regulated as well as in the US (where illegal things still slip through all the time). What you saw was a glimpse of what is out there on .ru etc sites. Its reached the point where if I'm looking for something and I click a link and see anything but one of the standard .com, .net, .org or the like at the end of it (.ro ? lol), I close my window before anything loads. Its not just the imagry either. Gotta love having foreign pop-ups that probably say something to the nature of "thank you for downloading our software".

Just clear out your browser cache, and it should remove anything stored by Internet Explorer.

If you are using another browser, you'll have to check the specific settings for them.

Should be some global law that all countries adhere to and inforce and the penality is to lose their eyes! They will not be seeing anything anymore! :D

Different places have different ages of consent, therefore where as a 16 year old is underage pornography, in someplaces even a 14 year is legal. Not much can be done globally when the world doesn't even agree.

In my experience, it's completely futile to put much effort into going after these people yourself.

Forward everything you can to the FBI, and hope that the servers/users are domestic. When a case can actually be built, the FBI is pretty good about going after these people.

Unfortunately they have all been European in origin.

I agree Starrla except you should add castration to that too.

They should be stripped naked except for a sign that says "I carry a torch for kids who use Text Messages!" and then dropped into the middle of Times Square. Then let the problem solve itself. ;)

If you're worried about that shit being cached on your PC, that should take care of it. I run it about once a month besides, clears out all the junk that cache/cookie clearing misses.

Oh, and make sure you scour that crap off. Guy I went to school with did jail time because of shit like that getting on his PC. His PC was taken for other reasons and they found it on there. He was scum and deserved to go to jail anyways for other shit he was up to, but that basically just doubled his sentence when they found it.
