With Iran already shelling the Kurds in northern iraq, and warning them about attempting to establish their own sovereignty, what else could be on the table between the Iraq and Iran leadership? What alliances are being forged among the Shiite, and how will the Sunni and Kurd be treated? I hope the U.S. is not going to abandon the Kurds again.

You hope in vain. And will likely be one of the few to take notice, much less regret.

We will see what happens to Turkeys EU bid. If they get rejected, you may seen a turn Eastward.

al-Maliki is just taking L2's advice.
The reality is that Iran has "arrived". We need to accept that fact that they are a major world player. I think we need to normalize relations with them. We need to start learning how to live with Muslims.
The Bush approach of not talking and the Neo Con philosophy that Diplomacy doesnt work are moronic. We need to start engaging. We need to start taking a realistic look at the state of the world we live in...we have to start learning to live with them.

So "Death to America" was somehow mistranslated?
