Flame away. (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9662926/)
What a disgrace. Brosnan ruled.

I couldn't agree more.
That guy was okay in Layer Cake, but Brosnan is so much more Bond than he is.

Man, I thought Brosnan had a couple more bond films in him. Too bad.

the biggest reason that no good actor or proper looking actor will play james bond, is the role comes with it a exclusivity clause, meaning he will ONLY be bond for X numkber of years.

Only, meaning what? The Thomas Crown Affair was pretty Bondish. The Tailor of Panama too.

They moved away from Brosnan because he was getting older and they wanted a younger Bond. At least that is what was presented on TV tonight and probably somewhere on those MSN pages.
It came as a surprise to Brosnan and was the result of a single phone call that caught him off guard. He was expecting the next film... so I don't know about any clauses in contracts etc..

Of all the potential candidates, Daniel Craig (http://english.ohmynews.com/articleview/article_view.asp?no=253393&rel_no=1) may be the only actor willing/able to be exclusive for several years... without being missed for other acting projects. :p I love Brosnan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierce_Brosnan), but his contract is up.

I think I'd rather have Orlando Bloom as James Bond than this guy. Only if he didn't have the same accent/voice from Lord of the Rings because that would just be too wierd.
Hugh Jackman or Ewan McGregor would have even been better choices imo...
I read somewhere that some jackass was trying to nominate Denzel Washington....

They tried Clive Owen for it and offered it to him before Craig, but he turned it down. I think he would've been perfect for it, myself.

Yeah Pierce Brosnan wanted to do another movie and I think he was expecting it but the movie producers wanted to go a different way.

Bronsan was a great Bond, hope this new guy can live up to it.

If you haven't seen it, check out Layer Cake to get an idea of what to probably expect from him.

Since I'm heading out the door anyway, how many Bond flicks did Brosnan do anyway?

Just four.

Kind of a bummer about Brosnan. Sean Connery was getting pretty old when he finally quit as Bond. I always think of Roger Moore when I think Bond though, Moonraker was the first one I watched, and I loved it.

Brosnan has said he would do 1 more film.

Unless there's one in the can I don't think he'll get one more.

Yeah, he's done for sure. He probably would've done at least one more, but Universal canned him. Casino Royale is the next one due out, and will star the new guy.

Which is why changing actors to a 37-year old for *this* film makes little sense; the 1967 Casino Royale (which admittedly was a spoof) depicted an aging Bond coming out of retirement; even the original novel depicted someone who was presumably at least at midlife. It'll be interesting to see how this comes out, but I *am* curious as to why Eon felt there was an overwhelming need for a change, unless they want to make a significant tone/character shift that they felt Brosnan would be unable to pull off for some reason.

It was a complete idiotic move as far as I'm concerned. Brosnan is bod as far as I'm conerned. No one else on earth will ever look more like an english agent than that guy.

Would have rather had this guy:

A little older...but much better fit IMO.

Wouldn't have worked since he was the villain in one already.
