Any Band of Brothers fans out there?
The Pacific is Speilberg and Hanks' new mini-series. First episode aired last week. Must say, it was pretty good, definately hooked in for next week's episode. It lacks Band of Brother's comraderie, and it is supposedly is going to focus on one person per episode, but nonetheless it has enough action and seriousness in it to be worthwhile, and the cinematography is, as usual, cracking.
Definately recommend this, one to watch out for.

I've watched Band of Brother's a pretty ridiculous amount of times.
This is certainly a different style, showing life at home along with out at war. But damn once that episode got going it was great. I'm greatly looking forward to the rest of the series.

I don't think it's stealing when they give it to you.

Imho it was very sharp, we have a local WW2 vet here in Alexandria who was there for the raising of the flag at Iwojima....
He freely admits he was snuggled down in his foxhole when those folks raised that flag twice....once for real, the second for the cameras.
Much respect to Willy, I hope to run into him again. I barely came home after 25 years so I've an obvious disconnect to our ole heroes here.

The Pelelui episodes were absolutely amazing. I can't even begin to describe how they were. Kind of like the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan.
The other episodes were awesome too, but nothing compared to those 3 episodes for me.
