Hey, any word on the guy (or 2 guys) whom they think started the fire? Were they camping or something?

the guy was in a hunting party (i believe it was just him and a friend) they got split up and one of them panic'd after his shouts were unanswered, so he decided to make a signal fire...

yeah. the guy lauched a flare into a very dry field. let me think.. no rain in san diego county since who knows when...i'm going to light this miny torch and....OOPS.

i think his punishment should be a permanent mark on his forehead that says "dumb shit"

They should lock the bastard in a room and set it on fire and let him feel the same horror those folks that burned to death did. :(

Some lady did the same dumb thing for Arizona's fires a while back - got lost on land she wasn't supposed to be on, then lit a fire that ravaged part of the state. Last I heard her name in the news she got off with a slap on the wrist, and a possible future lawsuit from the reservation.

well hopefully their guilt will be punishment enough. Anyone, even dumbshits like this, who has any basic moral standing would be so overcome with guilt at such a thing as this that they probably would have a hard time ever forgiving themselves.
