...OK, maybe that was just a headline grabber, but..

- An interesting situation. Whom do you agree with? Any predictions as to what might happen? Could a scottish oil drilling ship spark off a major war? Will I ever get this pine-nut out of my teeth???

I'd like to weigh in on this but I haven't much of a clue about it.

I read the brief "Wiki-history" of the island and still really don't see a clear cut side that should prevail. Though i would say, that since the British colonized it and the majority of the people are of British decent, they have a stronger claim.

As far as getting the rest of Latin America behind them...don't really think that carries much, if any, weight behind their claim. I don't think the oil rig would spark a war....Argentina knows they'd just get stomped again.

Argentina will lose again. Britain has the better weaponry.

Argentina will make a stink again because they need to unify their own populace, and nothing will divert attention from internal disorder and crises than an external enemy. A simple calculation: several thousand Argentinian soldiers are a cheaper sacrifice than making the economic decisions that need to be made.

It will probably hurt them to have Chavez support their claim.

China will trade tea with the Brits in exchange for how to repair their broken Made In China oil rig?
