****** was old-school—as old-school as it was possible to be in a business as new as RMT. He was 31, and his Web site—MySuper Sales.com—had been the dominant EverQuest virtual retailer almost as long as EverQuest had been the dominant MMO. He was the competition to beat.
Ugh, there's a name I had happily forgotten about.
Edit: Hah, Yan-tis is censored. I didn't remember that.

In a related note, SOE announced today their sanctioned RMT store for both Everquest and Everquest2.

I saw that, but I thought it was more than just that...something about soe bucks or some dumb thing that you can now use in live servers and not just station exchange ones? This pretty much nailed it for me to not play anymore SoE games, why compete with someone who is buying their way?

And none of them appeared on George Carlin's album, I would bet.

I think any MMORPG you play you are in contention with people who buy their way, SOE has no exclusives on it.

No you are correct SoE doesn't hold the corner market on gold farmers. But they are way behind the curve when it comes to aggressively dealing with them.
Warhammer is great that way, tho early on I was getting very frustrated with how spammed I'd be while playing. It's fixed now and anyone spamming you is easily reported and quickly banned.

WAR bans first and asks questions later.
Besides any retard who feels the need to buy gold in WAR is obviously just that a retard. Money means very little in that game and Mythic made it that way on purpose. Of course with 1.1 that could change since salvaging and TM making is changing. I will be rich!

Tradeskilling will never make me rich I'm afraid. Outside of fletching in EQ , that took me 8 plus years to cap , I've never been able to do it with any great enthuisiasm. Yes this means my toons are generally broke ;P

Slight ot, but I feel ya... of god I can't sit there and craft..ugh. 4+ years of EQ2 and highest craft level is like 32 or something. Lotro had the best crafting system in an MMO IMHO.
