I guess it's time for us to decide what we want to do with this thing when the server merges.

Better look (barely), but it's a piece of crap EZBoard.

Question is, do we try to retain our community and build up to take on some new people from the new server? Or, do we just let it go and keep this thing as even less and less an EQ related board?

I've got an idea of where I stand, but what do you guys think?

I originally posted this in the staff area, but I think it would be helpful to know what everyone wants also. Give us some initial feedback, and I'll turn it into a poll a little later.

I say keep this board just for the ayonae ro people. At least we can come here and talk or argue or whatever without some other servers retards running rampade on this forum.

Keep it like it is, if new people from Tribunal come its just more to converse with.

That recent poll shows that over half of the people who visit here don't even play Everquest anymore, we just visit for the community. If they want to come post over here that's fine, but I like these boards.

I think we should keep as the Ayonae Ro server board and this is where we can come and blast our new server mates lol. Seriously I think it should stay the way it is that way we will always remember our true home Ayonae Ro. ;)

This is incredibly annoying, but let me warn you guys: Once Ayonae Ro becomes the Tribunal, these boards will not receive the same traffic as we do now; 50% of our population comes from those who play on Ayonae Ro. This is completely up to you guys, and I will continue to run the boards regardless of the board's will (I'm sounding like Hegel now ;)). I think that if we merge with the Tribunal's boards, we'll see more heat!

Keep 'em seperate I agree.... However a nice post on there board expaining that we want to keep our board and will be doing so. If they wish to join our home of monkey poo flinging they can.. Maybe they have another Jedd or Taino et al.........

Simple:

1. Keep this board.

2. Have each board provide a link to the other (if wanted).

3. Have a nice day.

EDIT - Eventually if things meld well we can change some thread section titles to things like: "Downtown Ayonae Ro/Tribunal" or something like that. Perhaps even "Tribunal Ro", lol.

I like the cross-linking idea. I'm trying to get ahold of the administrators on the Tribunal; does anyone have their e-mail addresses or a way to get a hold of them? If you do, please PM me.

Anyone know if they play 'rotations' too? Cant say I'll play nice with that... At least those that are forced and not agreed upon by guild leader consent.

EZ boards suck. We'll see where people feel like posting though. Alot of that board is RSI & the flameboard, and those heavily populated by people who no longer play.

Just FYI, the 2 posts/day is only till you hit 10 posts; as far as I know, that was instituted in response to a little board war with SZ.

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Well I tried to check out their forums and I get the "you have to be registered nonsence". The mods here should start mass banning the Trib fuckers until they grow a brain and open their server boards up. Ours are totally wide open and have apparently been heavily used already. Looks like Palimax knows this all too well already...

We're a strong advocate of the First Amendment (as long as it's within the limits of the law). So we won't close our boards unless you guys don't start paying me! JK :devil

I am in favor of actual community boards, where people can post, participate, air the occasional bitch-fest. I think there's a good thing here, and while I'm certianly biased, I think THESE forums could grow a new name, another vhost, and continue serving AT A MINIMUM the players of this server, and hopefully the combined one.

We (over at VA) still run a very active and fairly well managed EZBoard. So, it's not total shit, but this is much nicer.

This seems like a good compromise to me:

They get to keep their server name, and we get to keep our board for the primary server usage =). VBulletin is so much better anyway.

Who knows. Buyza might buy us out!

I only suggest, as a long-time denizen of the Tribunal, that two old Tribunal traditions be respected:

1. The POMS List. Short for: Pieces of Monkey Shit, Players to Avoid. A Hall of Shame for players who make the server a worse place.

2. Gnomeball! The Karanas. Guildwar. A dead gnome to drag around.
About as much fun as you can have with your 'toons clothes on. . .

This board is the best setup board i have seen in awhile. I love it. I love seeing the newer "nags" and being a bish in them. I read the old NAGS like the LS one and such when im board. I love it. I love messin around with Fildien, its fun. He doesnt even know who i am, once he does he will shat himself. I hope these board stay up forever, free to ANYONE to wishes to read them. No matter how long EQ is alive or if you are registered.

Who knows. Buyza might buy us out!

There was a reason they limited their members to only a couple posts a week or whatever it is. It was a cesspool and should make for interesting flamethreads after about a week I am guessing.

After finally accepting that EQII sucks ass. This merger has me thinking about coming back to EQ seems like it might inject some good old fashion competition and hate. Fun stuff.
