So I figured it was time to leave the uber game behind and focus on things more important in life, and while I was at it.. do something nice.
So I sold my character for 1,500..
Took 500 and added to some of my own and bought this REALLY sweet crib that was normally out of my price range, its a beautiful piece of furniture.

Then I took the last 1000.00 and put it in a 30 year bond in my sons name.. with an option to add 250.00 annually it will give my son about $40,000 to do with what ever he pleases on his 30th birthday. Ill add the money till hes 16 then Ill let him do it until the bond matures.

What you get out of EQ Kindree? Besides a near psychotic obsession with people who dont give a sideways fuck about you.

Well due to the fact of you replying to the first part in a mature manor I have done the same, But here is where you get flamed.

What did I get out of eq? Well to start with I am still getting it out of EQ since I STILL OWN MY CHARACTER. EQ has given me some of my very best friends, and that isnt because we have got loot with each other it is because we have spent time together laughing and playing A GAME!!


Unlike you L2 I can balance things in my life to be able to enjoy EQ AS A GAME. I might not be in the top gear for my character and I might not have 440 AA points BUT I do manage to still play a little bit and visit with my friends from time to time and still do the things in real life that are important to me.

My wife just had our second child and he is now 1 month old we have a 5 year old girl as well. The difference between me and you L2 is that I use money I work for to take care of my family. I have done all of the same things in which you have spoke of, I know all the expenses of having children YET I still have my account so when I want to hang out with my FRIENDS I can do it. I have the will power to balance things in my life where as it sounds to me in order for you to change your life style you needed to get rid of your character. That shows a few things to me, 1 your friends you met in game ment nothing to you and 2 you have no will power when it comes to the game.

So in short I do find it funny as shit when I read about people selling off their video game character in order to pay off something or to get there life straight. This is a fucking game people not a way to earn a living. If you dont want to get to that point then dont spend every waking minute staring at your fucking computer. Balance is the key people learn how to balance tasks in your life and it is a piece of cake to succeed.

As for my sig I didnt really think much of it but now since I know how much you hate it I think I will leave it like it is knowing that it pisses you off so much.:rollin

Well.. heres the thing..

I never sold my character to "get my life straight", it was always straight. EQ was NEVER a problem with me. It was a small phase of my life however, that is now.. pretty much over.
But thats my nature.. I know when its time to move on... and I have no problem doing it.
I played Football for most of my life, and was pretty damn good, but after my senior season at URI, I was able to walk away with no regrets or looking back. If I was able to leave that behind with ease, the ego stroking and benefits of being a 4 year starter on a D1 football team are pretty damn nice, then EQ is a no brainer.

I know how I enjoy to play EQ, Im competitive by nature, I am also proud. EW is a great great great group of people, and If I wasnt in a position to pull as much weight or portion of the load as any other person there... then I just didnt want to do it.

BTW,, I had 210 AA and about 230 hours played on L2. Most of those AA (about 80 or 90) I have to thank Rellikcam, Crovax and Boddyto for.. they boxed me for 733t AA in Howling Stones before it was nerfed. And then I got bunch more Soloing in PoFire before it was nerfed (before you ever set foot in the zone) It was about an AA every 35 minutes... I used to tell Zehn about it when we were both playing.

I love the people I know in EQ, but my best friends, besides my wife, havent changed since I was a freshman in high school. If your "best friends" are in a computer game.. you need to get out more.

I have my friends, but they are like real people, who I SEE on a weekly basis, they have names like "Mike", and "Barrett", and "Rob"... and they call me "Paul"
And we dont raid some pixels.. we go golfing, or go check out a Yankees game in NYC or have a few beers at a BBQ.
EQ is fun.. but the new factor of a baby for me is an extra consideration, Im not willing to give up time with my Wife,
my friends and ESPECIALLY not my son, in order to squeeze some room for EQ.
Id be willing to work less,(with the same pay) but my boss prolly wont go for it.

Haha for once I am going to side with L2 on this one. Here is how I view things, L2 is going to be a father and was willing to give up one of his hobbies to help his child, and most likely have more time with his child. He also made 1500 bucks, not a bad amount for playing a video game even though I wanted to buy L2 :) Oh and money is money, I would not criticize a garbage man for doing what he does for a living even though my way of earning income is more sanitary and such.

Well L2 I to have many friends in RL and guess what alot of friends I have in real life are also in the same guild as I am in. SO I guess I have the best of both worlds. As far as making time for EQ , it is a hobby just as playing softball, doing yard work on my new house I just built working on my grand parents ranch on the weekends and a number of different things. I balance it all and EQ just happens to be one of the many hobbys I enjoy.

It is pointless to argue about this though because I do respect your choice to leave the game and spend time with your family.

I took a shot at you just like you take shots at other people fun is fun and it makes the day go by a bit faster sometimes hehe.

As far as EW is concerned they have done many things in EQ and that they should be proud of, but I take shots at them for a number of actions they have done on there way to the top. I do feel the MOds of this board favor ew and it has be proven a number of different times in the way they have protected them or bailed there asses out.

What to say...i'm sure we work hard and we take him (FR) down very soon again.

The difference is, people wanted your whole guild to move to a Euro server to see if they could cut it without the "time zone advantage". Instead, after 3 months of not progressing in the game, your leaders got bored and screwed the rest of you by moving to a server devoid of any competition whatsoever. Ahh well, can always call up some players in the LOTJ AA farm team, eh?

People come people go in every guild... i'm not in the situation
to express old sliders opinion about the past - since im one of the new members in LS - but those who stayed plans to advance in this game once again. They reflagged most of the new members/recruits, we have raids every day (im here for 3 weeks. 20 raids on those days and only 2 or 3 unsuccesful incl. FR. And let it make sure all targets were important for the guild, either for loot or for flags). I still say, counting that there are many many new players in the guild LS is still doing fine. Sure now its harder, sure LS is not as strong yet as it was, but we will be back. And i don't know you what your problem is now that should be commented as "lolz"...you have any problems with the competition, or just have minority feelings?

I also don't know how LOTJ is involved there, they are keeping together, they advance in pop pretty well...not many (or any? i dont really know) left them to LS.

btw, This is only my personal opinion, and not surely identifical with the leadership of LS.

Well who cares who he is realy? Not changing anything for my guild with his rambling anyway.So we hard a hard summer and lost some people, bet that most guilds experienced this.

EW beat Quarm, IvM beat Xegony and Coirnav, SoT made huge elemental progress...all over the summer.

Being an euro guild on a US server is not easy, I know its a thousand year old excuse but it still holds :) Game is getting really old, we and many other guilds have a lot of quiters and summer time is never easy when you have a 20-30 ppl hardcore + the casuals to raid with. Anyways, grats to all the guilds that were able to progress! :)
