Israel did the same thing to Iraq. Why should Iran feel left out? One day the region will learn that its not a good idea to fuck with Israel.

"Iran should on no condition, possess WoMD! But we can. 'Cause we're not a violent nation!"

Israel is the last fucking country who should have nukes.

Well, on a flight of fancy, I would surmise that israel will call for a conference of the surrounding nations, and inform their Secretaries of State (or corresponding people) that they have now targetted their nuclear missiles at Damascus, Cairo, Tehran, Baghdad, Jordan's capitol (can never remember that one), etc.

The offer will then be made to cease any and all hostilities, allow all to live and let live, and if any missile should show up on Israeli radar everyone would be facing fire and damnation. Mutually Assured Destruction! That might get the folks to start talking a bit more seriously to each other about NOT getting any more stupid than they have already.

Just a thought:eek:

The problem with that is, I'm betting that there's people there that wouldn't mind mutual destruction.

Well, you missed that boat by 30 or 40 years, but it if it makes you feel any better Britain quite likely provided them too :> However I think the fact that Palestine, Iraq and Jordan aren't denoted by shiny patches on the map is a good indication that Israel is capable of responsibly handling nuclear arms. It's not like Israel can't militarily wipe the floor with them conventionally anyway, but have largely chosen not to do so. On the other hand, coalitions of Islamic states have proven they can't even keep it together enough to kill their own unarmed ethnic minorities, and yet still threaten and attack Israel on a depressingly regular basis. The real root of terrorism is their comic ineffectiveness as states.

The whole idea of there being actual borders in the Middle East is a fairly recent concept. It was better when it was just city states ruled by a monarch and the rest of the Middle East was just nothing more but sandy no-mans land underneath a caravan camel's feet. If it wasn't for that oil under that sand! =/

Well having been ruled by different dynasties and empires since the Persians, from Greeks to Ottomans, most of the Middle East has been a collection of provinces.
For example, Iraq has only been Iraq since us Brits grabbed the Ottoman provinces of Basra, Mosul and Baghdad, and welded them in to the Kingdom of Iraq under a chosen monarch.
That is pretty much how the modern Middle East was created, smothered in "peace" conferences and LoN mandates.
