I'm trying to figure out how to pull a link from a site giving me all sorts of problems. Today I did a shoot and a friend caught it up on the web and I'd love to get a link to my mom so she can see what kinda stuff I do. However, ESPN has some super-anti-URL-copying or something and I can't get a direct link to the page. When I post it into an Instant Message I get "javascript:void(0);"

Basically, on espn.com there's a column on the right titled ESPNEWS Headlines. There is a list of headlines and at the end of "NBA Great Mikan dies at 80" there's a link to watch a shoot with Red Auerbach. I can't for the life of me figure out how to link to the page that opens displaying that video, OR to the actual video. Either one of those I'd be extremely appreciative of. Sooner the better since I doubt ESPN keeps this stuff up for more than a day or two.

This, for starters:
http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/motion/echo/index?id=2074582&category=Motion%20on%20Demand&sub category=NBA

And I'll give you JUST the video in a second.

They're clever, give me a few :)

Scratch that, actually...I see what they do, but I don't see how to isolate it. I make a request for what I think is the individual component, and the server tells me to get bent. Rybit is a java freak, so he might be able to make more sense of it.

Yeah, the "onclick" doesn't give a url to anything intelligible that can be called outside of their app framework.

Really f'in perplexing, isn't it? :)

I just sent the link you gave me up there Palimax and told her to click on the split screen with the guy with the cigar, she was able to figure that much out! Thanks!

I'll use this as the technology item....

So, Palimax. Do you like that Audiovox SMT5600? I'm considerning buying one to use on Tmobile.

Will the sync software sync with any Outlook mailbox; I'm considering use the Notes connector within Outlook so I can access my crappy Notes mailbox within Outlook.

Is the speakerphone good enough to use in a moving car?

How did you unlock it? Did you purchase an unlock online?

I get tired of not having my information with me; this thing would probably work much better than a PDA (I've used several, and always get tired of them). Keeps the number of devices low, and I think the candy bar setup might work better than my preferred flipphone.

I went out and bought a 5600 the other day. After Pali posted it I went and checked it out and fell in love. Unfortunatly, I can't answer those questions since I havn't used it for Outlook or used the speakerphone in a moving car (only had it a week). I got mine directly from Cingular.

What I do love about it is the expandable memory and Media Player 10. I got a 1 Gig Mini SD card for like $80 and poped that in there. I took a rip of Star Wars Episode 4 and compressed it down with Cleaner to 200 megs (its a small screen anyway.. didn't need to be high res). Plays flawlessly. Cool thing is, at 200 Megs each I could have 5 full length movies on there.

The only thing that leaves anything to be desired is the battery life, which is still good, but if your watching movies / using the backlit LCD all the time, it will blow through the batteries. I havn't had time yet, but I'm gonna test it when I have some time and see how many movies I can make it through before it dies.

I had the idea "Well, its like a portable movie player... that would be awesome for a flight with no movie.." but then I remembered that you always have to turn your phone off on airplanes. I found out, however, that it has a "Flight Mode", which I thought was ingenious.

Anyway, like I said, Pali will have to answer what you asked, but I am very happy with it.

Thanks. I think a lot of the phones using the Windows OS have a problem with battery life. But I charge mine every night, so that's not too much of an issue. I've just gotta make sure the sync will do what I want, then find an unlocked one for a decent price.

There's an unlocking service on the web, and eBay sells unlocked ones (locked + service is cheaper).

I synch juts great with Outlook.

I haven't used the speakerphone.

Akom - get "betaplayer" and pocketdivx.

Thanks Pali... thats awesome.

I was looking for some customization for smarphones and found some cool ones:

I have the Alien Invention 2 skin on mine right now... love it. Havn't played with it yet to see if theres anything that needs to be tweaked.. stores on your Storage Card too =D

Couldn't resist... changed it to the Futurama one... looks nice and is still really functional.
