McCain looked really pissed most of the night.
McCain consistently was redefining what had been said, and I am not sure if he ever listened to anything Obama said other than key words like spending; one instance was McCain saying we needed to work on helping autistic kids, and when Obama said it would require spending McCain jumped on that, as if under him it would be free, heh.
McCain looked scary tonight, the more I watched. I almost feel embarassed for him, having once been a staunch supporter.

This was the first "real" debate, I think, where I actually heard some good exchanges. Early one I think McCain did better, strictly from a speaking standpoint, but they both warmed up nicely by the end.
I didn't really hear anything new or earth shattering.

I am not sure if McCain did not answer a single question without replaying one of his negative ads; that was part of why he looked so angry to me, he was using each question to attack with something negative, even when asked about his own negative campaigning, he managed to negatively attack Obama.
McCain showed me tonight that he has nothing without the ability to say something bad about the other guy. He was a lot classier eight years ago.

I thought they were both pretty weak.
After all the harping on "wealth redistribution" that McCain did, he praised Palin for redistributing oil company wealth in Alaska. I was so disappointed that Obama didn't jump on that at least a little.
Did anyone notice how McCain kept fidgeting with the Sharpie? His hands were trembling for most of it. Is that a function of his disability, or was he that nervous?

I couldn't agree with some of the sentiments expressed in this thread already, more. The way that McCain was smirking the entire time while Obama was talking; and the way he composed himself throughout the debate just oozed "classless" to me. Whereas every time that Obama was talking or sitting idle while McCain was speaking, he held himself in what appeared to me to be a completely mature and professional manner.
Based primarily upon that, I would feel much more comfortable with Obama in office than McCain. And that does not take into account any of their political views, just observations on their behavior and the way they composed themselves during last nights debate.
On a somewhat lighter note however...

Probably. I noticed him doing the tongue-tick thing several times in the second debate.
edit: Yeah.

John McCain is proud of the people that come to his campaign, and makes no apologies for his running mate inciting folks to make threats of violence to another presidential candidate. BUT, his feelings are hurt that he and his running mate have been compared to a racist, and he is angry that Obama will not repudiate someone who is not in his campaign or speaking for him.
McCain is infuriated by the fact that he is not going to slide in effortlessly to the White House, and even more so that it is this "inexperienced" upstart who is in his way. The only prediction I am willing to make about these two politicians is that McCain will suffer some kind of medical event before the first of the year. He is sitting on way too much rage, as evidenced by his constant fidgeting.
