i didn't post about it this year because I had so much of it to watch via DVR as it was right during the middle of my Colorado trip...
Couple of things....
- only 2 or 3 booted due to doping (or alleged doping).
- The riders looked tired this year (see above)
- overall the riders looked heavier (not the usuall gauntness)
- I watched the whole thing and still can't remember who won
Also, if you don't keep up with the cycling scene, last years winner was the most ripped off winner ever.... he won after the number 1 and number 2 were DQ'd for doping LOL!! so like 5 months later he was the champ... never got to stand on top of the podium, kiss the two girls or hold up the stuffed lion :( LOL !!!
Aside from that, after being at 14k feet , walking and stopping ever 50 yards to breath, I have even more admiration for what those guys can do... even the guy who came in dead last.... 2300 miles in 23 days is awesome.
