Just got back from a midnight showing of it. Not really sure what to make of it. A couple of my biggest complaints from the first one revolved around the fact that the transformers weren't in the movie enough, and had hardly any opportunity to speak between shots of Megan Fox's ass.

This one seemed to have way more robot on robot action (consequently, there isn't much time to get to know them before they have their heads crushed and pulled apart, what with the 2ish hour time limit). Again a step in the right direction, but some of the most badass robots had very little screen time.

However, it still felt like the transformers were sort of just guest stars in their own movie. Not a lot of dialog still, and what little they had was a bit goofy. Oh well - I suppose if the writers were able to fix my first complaint, they can fix my second complaint if a third movie is in the works.

Getting horrible reviews... but a lot of summer blockbusters do. I haven't seen it yet, but I think you need to go into the movie not expecting a great movie, but rather a big, flashy Saturday morning cartoon. It seems one of those movies that if you don't set your expectations too high, you have a much better chance of enjoying it for what it is.

Thought it was better then the first one. It was definitely a fun movie and look forward to seeing it on my system when it releases in Blue Ray, assuming there isn't something coming out better then Blue Ray soon.

It was better than the first one, and way better than T:Salvation (for what little that says), but Bay still can't direct his way out of a paper bag if it doesn't involve something exploding or pornographic slow pans across military hardware. I did laugh a bit in that despite going to lengths to show off Fox's assets, it was only in the tracking shots of aircraft carriers, flights of jets, and tanks could you feel the love of lens for subject.

The third quarter really dragged and a lot of the end seemed rushed, and I really have no idea at all who thought the Negrobots were a good idea, or why they got 10x the screen time of the other Autobots or NEST people. That said it did, for the most part, achieve fun. There are also a lot of nods to the 80s storylines in there including an homage to a great character I saw coming a mile away but still appreciated, as well as cameos from dozens of other popular but non-principal robots.

Are you talking about Jetfire and him giving up his parts for Optimus?

If so, agreed. I loved him being in that movie, even if it wasn't for very long.

I haven't seen it yet, no access to a theater on base(Afghanistan) so you have to buy the lame CAM versions at the bazaar on base. I'm hearing about the same as far as reviews go on about.. MetaCritic and Rotten Tomatoes have mostly mediocre scores. However, I still want to see it... I'm just not going to watch it like its the second coming of Christ like some people did.

When you go to watch it for what it is, it's well worth the admission price + goodies at the concession. It is not however a copy of one of Shakespeare's great lost plays, it's an action movie. And a good one at that. Though I have to agree with Malse, the "twins" were a waste of film

Jetfire in general. I was really hoping for more from them merging, like a permanent change to Prime, but oh well. That last 5 minutes was horribly editted and Jetfire deserved way more time.

As soon as they mentioned "seekers" the part of my brain that keeps trivia instead of family birthdays sprung to life and waited for the awesome.

I enjoyed the movie, because well I love transformers and good action movies. The sequences were fine. My only complaint was...

Megatron working for someone else, its so out of character for him.

Well, Megatron (technically Galvatron at that point?) did work for Unicron, if only as a lip service in the 80's movie. Speaking of the 80's movie though:

I was kind of hoping the matrix of leadership would create a new Prime, rather than resurrecting Optimus, as another nod to the old story arcs. Oh well.

just saw it and really enjoyed it. I am in the boat of thinking it was better than the first as well. i could have done with less of the twins but otherwise it was good.

Yeah but that was my point, it was only a lip service and he actively plotted his downfall.

This has no appeal to me.

Cars turning into robots? *makes a fart noise with hand*

I've also become deeply disillusioned with Bay. What happened, man?

so i saw it today.

Pros:
*Brief reference to the sharktacons (spelling?) in the kitchen scene, well atleast one looked alot like one.

*Optimus Prime is a bad ass combatant

*Bumblebee, i love the guy

*The return of sector 7

Cons:
-The 4,317 miles Sam ran

-Tyrese becoming the "token blackman" with his shitty one liners and his non-need to even been in the movie

-Them making up new robots instead of using the roughly 100 that are over 20 years old.

-The random effectiveness of the human weapons

-The Primes/Fallen storyline.

-The redo of the Matrix of Leadership

I liked it. I liked the lines the twins got. hated the goofy looking faces they were given.

Was extremely disappointed in Soundwave.

Great action movie and overall I enjoyed it, in fact in some ways I like it better than the first one. The soundtrack is pretty good too.

Yea, he was pretty much an epic fail, they so could of done a better job on him.. but then again I was expecting more of the original one from the 80's :D

Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior.

Shia LaBeouf reminds me of the Wesley Crusher character from Star Trek: TNG in a not-so-good, highly obnoxious way.
