I've had strong doubts about this movie (and I was never a big fan anyway), but seeing a trailer last month upgraded Transformers from "Dear God, Why?" to "Promising Sequence of kaBooms."

That's the trailer they played when we saw Pirates3; I definitely can't wait and hope that it will be worth the ungodly cost of taking 3 people to the movies these days.

I'm keeping my expectations low on the basis that there has been zero dialogue from the robots and lots of hints at some hollow love story, a la Pearl Harbor. Plus I really don't like the spindly junk-yard-contraption look on the robots.

Come on. Agent Smith is the voice for Megatron. How can that lose?

I would totally pay to see a movie with Agent Elrond transforming into a robot gun.

Well said. While I LOVE Transformers (and still have most all of them) I too am worried about some stupid love story. Plus the Transformers them selfs look a bit off to me. To spindaly as said earlier. But I will most certainly be there to see it.

All of the transformers look the same to me, just with different heads and paint jobs. =\ At least Optimus Prime is a flatbed rather than a fire truck or whatever he was originally going to be. Bumblebee is still a camero or whatever it is though. I hope its good, but at the same time I'm not sure.

Na, Bumblebee was a VW bug.. Not too manly for the main character I guess.

I used to have both of those! Poor Bumblebee's head would never stay closed.

Did the director change for this movie? I don't remember Bay originally doing it, and it seems like I was really disappointed in whoever was originally doing it. At least Bay has some good action flicks under his belt.

Bay is directing this film, and Speilberg is executive producer.

I mean, he's still a camero in the movie, rather than a VW bug. Unless I was mistaken and the yellow with yellow stripes dealie in the trailer isn't Bumblebee.

I was a huge Transformers fan. By huge, I mean blowing every single piece of currency my parents could justify on them. I had Prime, Bumblebee, you know, the lot. All of them. At least I tried.

I'm trying to stay positive with regards to the film, but the designs on the robots are just horrible. Besides the name, nothing about the trailer or anything I've read about the film has brought out any sense of suspense or nostalgia.

Your not going to get the same look or feel of the cartoons no matter how hard they try unless you want to spend a LOT of money imho or have a world class director with an original or great storyline. Even the best ideas can be screwed up by incompetent people which seems to happen alot in movies nowadays. The transformers are supposed to be robots tho so i'm not too upset if the nod toward that direction but not TOO far...lol

Um, well, I played, lived and breathed Transformers as a kid, and even if its not exactly the way each and every one of us feel it should be, I'm very excited for this movie. I bet it'll be awesome.

Soundwave FTW.. not only did he play some fine tunes while kicking (well at least trying to) your arse.. he came packed with some mini buddies if my memories served me right he had 4 minions.. Rumble(huminoid like bot whos arms could turn into ground pounders).. Ravage(Cat like bot)... Lazerbeak(Hawk / eagle like bot) and he also had another one that look like Lazerbeak.. but I for got his name

i think they are doing the story arc like in the cartoon when bumblebee got messed up and cameback as gold version. I think the 77-79ish camero gets messed up and then the shameless plug of the new chevy 2008 version camero when bumblebee is reborn
