I am 29 now when i started playing EQ i was much younger and had more reason and want to go out drinking, hanging out with friends and what not. Now i much prefer to stay home and relax after a days work, with the occasional night out. With that being said and the invention of the DVR, i find myself watching MUCH more TV than ever.

Before it was Buffy and XFiles were about it, now i watch something like 22 shows through the year.

i found: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/03/business/media/03nbc.html

to be very very exciting. I hope this is a buisness model that CBS, ABC follow.

My biggest concern though while i love the idea, the cable networks off season shows such as Burn Notice, Eureka, and the rest of the USA and Sci-Fi network may suffer due competition in a time when the big 3 (5 if you count fox and CW) are in reruns.

Oh shit I forgot they had the Olympics coverage. Its pretty interesting seeing what NBC/Universal is doing in conjunction with the rest of the GE company, from GE Water providing clean water for the games and GE Banks funding the project, and so forth.

But the other thing is, it makes a lot of sense. Who can keep track of when their new show is airing, or when it'll be a rerun, and what show is on what season. I'd love to know every Thursday I can see a new episode of The Office (or DVR it and watch it later when I have time) instead of reruns all summer long and so forth. Its exciting.

Definately an interesting approach by NBC.

Hope they can keep it fresh and not make the product placement as obvious as one would see on Fox with American Idol's placement of Coca-cola everywhere!

Wow. More news. How do you get enough money to produce 60+ weeks of original programming? You pull the best original shows off your cable networks. USA will now air the reruns, while the USA original series of Monk and Psych are now on NBC (in HD!)

Why have a great show compete with other good shows on broadcast NBC, when they know Psych and Monk are probably better and will have more viewers.

My parents religiously watch Monk, but Shaloub just annoys me to no end.

Monk is hit or miss with me, sometimes it is absolutely hilarious, other times I can feel my skin crawling.
