No Americans were killed in the attack (I'm surprised this wasn't posted here earlier).

Right up until sometime in the beginning of November.

Sarah Palin didn't swoop down from a helicopter and disarm a terrorist with common sense and home cooking, so nobody gives a shit where Yemen is, much less what happened there. I'm willing to bet the majority of Americans don't even know what our foreign embassies do, and a good third of them don't know they exist at all.

Y'all might need to broaden your news networks. I saw this on CNN, Yahoo, and it was on NPR on the drive home from work. It did get press - I suspect the lack of reaction largely stems from people not knowing how to react to it. Me, I was thinking of sending the Bush administration a sarcastic thank you note.

I think it was mentioned everywhere, but instantly lost in the financial turmoil news.

I believe our President was in Panama yesterday giving a speech on the strength of the panamanian economy...that is 100% true.

They sure do...you can see them in the picture! You also realize that it being in Utah means Fandros is a muslim.

I know a little bit about embassies but only b/c my brother's wife works for the French Consulate in Atlanta. I would assume what she does is very similar to what our embassies do. Which, is frankly quite interesting.
