Not only knew, but probably participated in some cases. Sanctions on Iraq were a joke.
BTW, these "intelligence" reports were from the same people who were convinced Saddam had hidden stockpiles of WMDs in Iraq. We all know how *that* turned out.
I saw a report today that listed the 61 countries involved with the oil-for-food scam. Yes, the US had some companies involved. About 1% of the total in fact. The largest benefactors? China, Russia and France. Imagine that.
