So i realize i watch a ton of TV now, and thought i would post what i watch and waht i will watch and get some conversation going.

NEW (more than this exist but these are the ones i'm interested in)

In Plain Sight- U.S. Marshal who relocates criminals and innocent bystanders in the federal witness protection program, all while keeping an eye on her own dysfunctional family.

The first episode of this was on USA. i tend to like all their shows so i may be biased, i love the actress. Would recommend it for the pilot episode atleast.

Fear Itself-A witches' brew of talent -- including 'Saw II' director Darren Bousman, actors Brandon Routh ('Superman Returns') and Cynthia Watros ('Lost') and singer Rufus Wainwright -- is culled together in a 13-episode horror anthology. What, they couldn't have made a 666-episode anthology?

The previews for this look good, and the trailers i have seen look good. Definately going to give it a try. 6/5 NBC

Charlie Jade-This Canadian import follows a PI through three parallel universes: future earth (if we continue on our global-warming-leading path), present earth and the pristine world that could have been. The latter dimension is unexposed to explosions, terror, conflict ... and Al Gore's PowerPoint presentation.

Has potential for win but also potential for epic fail. 6/6 Sci-Fi

The Middleman-Twenty-something Wendy Watson (Natalie Morales) is recruited by a top-secret agency to fight comic-book-like criminals. The Middleman (Matt Keeslar, pictured) serves as her straitlaced boss. The 13 hour-long episodes are based on Javier Grillo-Marxauch's (a writer/producer of 'Lost' and 'Medium') graphic novels.

its ABC Family so it will be stripped down most likely. will give it a whirl but not holding my breath. 6/16 ABC FAmily

Wipeout-Contenders brave extreme obstacle courses that have been created for the maximum amount of crashes, face plants and reality-TV slapstick. The winning contestant of each episode will score $50,000. The others will have to settle for being cheered on by host John Anderson, of ESPN's 'SportsCenter.'

Fear FActor minus the food really. Should fill the quota for the need to watch people hurt themselves. 6/24 ABC

Flashpoint-Who knew that law enforcement officers would be this busy ... in Canada? But they are, if this peek inside the tumultuous lives of cops in Toronto's Emergency Task Force is any indicator. Among their varied tasks: negotiating and rescuing hostages; dealing with gangs, bombs, and suicidal teens; and making some inside deals in the process.

Guns, SWAT, gangs....canada almost makes me not want to watch it but will give it a show. 7/11 CBS

Returning

The Mole returns for 10 episodes and a new crop of candidates with (one hopes) street smarts and some investigative skills. Twelve players must discover who among them is the saboteur in order to win a big cash prize. Just put them on a desert island and it's 'Lost: The Reality Version.'

They dont tell you who it is so the suspense isnt bad as you try and figure it out. 6/2 ABC

30 days-It's been nearly two years since Morgan Spurlock's last 30-day quest in the series' second season (guess he was busy finding Osama bin Laden). The creator and host will (among other things) work at a coal mine in his home state of West Virginia and live on a Native American reservation. And former NFLer Ray Crockett will spend 30 days in a wheelchair.

Amazing show, really opens up your eyes to things, also shows how dumb people are. 6/3 FX

America's Got Talent

I love this show, American Idol but with a wider variety

Stargate: Atlantis

its stargate, if you like SG-1 you will like this

Monk

Who doesnt like an OCD detective, seriously

Psyche

Amazing dialogue, hilarious show.

Eureka

Sci-Fi's best show period.

I agree, the original just doesn't compare to this version. The original was so ultra 70s cheesy and fake it's just sad. The story is so much more detailed and fleshed out in the BSG the other one seems like something that just flailed around show to show.

its 70's tv vs 2000's tv. Byl back me up on this if i am right. The story lines didnt have to be so complex as say Lost, Daybreak and the like. The stories were new. Now stories have to be huge epic tales to stay "original".

Again call it something else, invent new characters and villians.

Imagine taking A-Team, one of the greatest shows IMO ever. Having them travel around in a private jet black with a red stripe.

John Hannibal Smith is played by Sarah Jessica Parker
Murdock is played by Cedric the Entertainer
BA Baracus played by Lucy Lui
Faceman is Carson by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

They are running from the FBI after being wrongly accused of a crime they didnt commit. Special Agent (Colonel) Decker (played by Lorenzo Lamas) is chasing them while they help people with problems.

That is what the new BSG did. (sarcasm excluded of course)

...Ice Cube is sketchy but i like the other two cast choices, though Ryan Reynolds is my pick for Murdock.

Original BSG was so bad it was hard to watch.

Yes I'm a HUGE Sci Fi fan and have always been, but even I saw as an early teenager that it was painfully campy.

The new BSG is much better, if a bit dreary ;P

I loved the Original and I love the new one.

At first I was upset by the character changes, but now I just take them as two separate entities. They are different interpretations of the same idea.

I'll agree the difference in episode depth from the 70's to now is huge, but don't you dare disparage Lucy Liu! And spell her name right, at least.

If you have read Saberhagen's 'Berserker' books, the original BSG does not have that ability to grab your guts and give a hard yank; the new BSG has had such moments, although not as many as would have been possible.

Actually, I have not enjoyed many shows the last few years as much as I did Babylon 5. The writers did a great job of interweaving little snippets that turned out to be memorable. One of my favorite quips was by G'kar (sp) when he was talking to a young Ranger; he made note of the fact that in his travels through space he had learned that a common trait among those races that had reached the stars was that they all had a form of food that tasted like Swedish Meatballs.

How can you top that? :D

You are right, in my opinion nothing else has come close to that which was Babylon 5. I absolutely loved that show. I wish someone would do some reruns :)

When SciFi channel was rerunning each night at 6 (this was in the mid 90's), from episode 1 through the end, I religiously had the tape set, and only missed one episode, which turned out to be not an important one for story lines. I will look around to see if they are available anywhere, other than the big buck DVD box sets.

I actually liked the first 3-4 episodes of the old BSG actually. The new one is great, but the old one had it's moments also.
BUT, how many of you remember ever watching Space:1999 as a kid? VERY old show but at the time it was pretty good. (Actually have the whole series on dvd now) Loved Babylon 5 tho too.
I sometimes watch monk, but most of the rest of the shows i could care less about. Seems to me that the quality of TV except in some cases has gone down the past few years imho. (I personally think shows like american idol and reality tv are lame, but thats just me...lol)

Was that the one with Martin Landau and his wife, Barbara Bain, where they were scientists on a colony on the moon and there was some kind of event that threw the moon into a trajectory out of the solar system? Essentially, the moon was their ship.

Or am I mistaken?

Crystana65

Actually, in the show the moon is being used as a nuclear waste storage facility and the wastes blow up in a massive explosion, (Not the most realistic plot...lol) knocking the moon out of orbit and into deep space.
The rest of the series delved into the adventures of the people still stuck on the moonbase.
I still like the eagles design tho. (Spaceships they used on the show) Seemed like it was more realistic than most shows in that regard.
And yes, those were the two actors in the show.

Loved that show. havent seen it so long but seem to remember it had a lot of realistic things to it. The Eagles were pretty cool ships.
