Found this link posted by someone on eqlive.com website forums lore section. I now have more insight and background into the game that has so consumed a good part of my free time =). Finally a good time line of events for those who did not know much about or had pieces of what has , is and might be in the EQ world.

The codex is very much out of date, and draws much of its lore from Beta (which has knowingly been rejected now by Sony) and from speculation by Banegrivem himself (see: Second War of the Gods not materializing, the problem is, he digs so deep that not even Sony bothers to go that deep, and so creates rather a depressing anti-climax).
That said, there are a lot of old GM event storylines he's managed to keep there, and a lot of the lore is actually true.
Cool site nevertheless. Been on my Favourites for a few years now.

If only Sony had kept on top of stuff like this, maybe the game would still be fun. /shrug
