Having a hard time finding any groups as a ranger, which I am sad about because Rangers have always been my favorite class. I was just wondering what class everyone is playing and if you would recommend that class to anyone to play. I got a feeling I'm gonna need to roll a healer or tank to get any groups more often.

Ohhh..... the shiny is wearing off the new toy I see... Is that a record for the quickest first post complaining about no groups?

Just teasing ya'...

ROFL, game is less than a month old and aready people are falling into the old "holy Trinity" mind set?
Way to re-invision the game Sigil. Congrats McQuaid you are now officially Sony's most ridden hooker.

No there is absolutely nothing wrong with the game its just like every other MMO these days, if your not in a guild you are going to have a hard time finding people to group with.

Actually, it wasn't until I started hitting the upper teens that groups started becoming more and more available.

The content is designed to bring people from the newbie yards, in towards the higher level content, almost like a swirl or spiral. By the time you're in your 20's, there are more people in the area, and they are usually more receptive to groups due to the difficulty of the mobs.

Give it time, it will come. It was only a week or so ago that I was in the same boat. Kick back and enjoy the ride. To the naysayers, all I have to say is....

See you in 3 to 6 months, if not less. :)

PS: It's a shame that Rangers are not getting their due. They are far more than they have been in other games, namely a distance DPS player.

I love rangers in this game because finally the Class of Nature gets a sweet pet!

i've been playing a monk. I must say I really like it. I duo'd with a shaman the other day and he flat out rocked. Did lots of damage and healed quite well.

Maybe Binny maybe, i'm definately gonna give it some time before jumping in and let the newness wow factor wear off and see what's what when the long term grind factor kicks in.
Soory Moglor i just found it disconcerting that you where thinking of leaving the class idea that appealed most to you for something that would get you a group easier. remind's me of old EQ (wich i loved dearly) the war/cleric/chanter monopoly was a bad game mechanic wich they never really gave a rats ass about fixing. would be pretty sad if BMq didnt learn his lesson from that and created the same enviroment in Vanguard.

It also could just be me, EQ and EQ2 kinda killed my drive for MMO's. It's hard for me to play and grind without getting tired of it. We'll see what happens, I still have about 10 days ish left on my free month.

There is no holy trinity in VG far as I can tell, theres way too many overlapping class features.

theres 5 classes that can heal well, 6 that can tank "XP" content well, 5 that can fufill the "enchanter" roll on one basis or another, you often only need psionsists if your pulling like a dozen mobs at once, otherwise druids and bards fill the crowd control role better(well contributing more overall to groups imho)

The only thing I see kinda lopsided right now is the offensive melee side of things, theres no reason not to take a bard over a monk/ranger/lolrogue if ones available, they contribute more overall damage than any of those 3, stack with themselves(3 bards isn't redundant), and offer crowd control/pulling abilities on top of it, oh, and on top of that they're the best defense wise of the offensive fighters.

Other then that one balance issue, I don't see any holy trinity popping up...I've xp'd with dozens of different group combinations, the most effective ones don't even have tanks.
