The servers have been announced. As far as I can tell, it is the Woefeather server we are looking to reside on.

I'll post character names, guilds, etc, here for folks if they are interested.

Who knows? Maybe Vanguard might eventually get a spot next to EQ2 and WoW? ;)

Anyhow, after the griffin event last night (hunt for goblin shaman that had stolen griffin hatchlings), a lot of people are stoked about what this game just might be able to do on release.

Personally, it's my hope that we see as many old friends together in one place as possible. Would be kinda cool to build a town and call it Ayonae Ro. ;)

That's funny, after reading other's comments about that event last night I think they lost EVEN more people's interest in the game.

The event brought back OLD memories, when the GM's would spawn Dragons in the Dreadlands. Most people were really cool, then there were the group that pissed and moaned from the start. It happened in EQ, it happened in VG. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way. The GM's have a great sense of humor.

I personally had a blast, along with many, MANY others, though I didn't get a flying griffin mount. I miss actual, Live interaction from a company in an MMO, it's been far too long.

I guess the game will speak for itself when it goes live. Might launch great? Might have issues, who knows? All I know is, last night I did some travelling and I haven't had that sense of bewilderment and awe since I first took Bemolien (my very first toon) from Qeynos to Faydwer by foot. It was good times. :)

I'm just teasing.. JUst 'cause Fild and I hate it doesn't mean it won't have a large following....=)

I bought it and at the least I'll already have the game when it takes off, because like you Binu I do see the potential that game has, It really does have kind of a feel of EQ1, only crappy thing is in beta so far my brand new computer is still running crappy at High performance graphics so I might wait till that gets figured out before I pay for amonth.

Well I did the event and I have to say I had a blast. Prob most fun I had in VG so far. Im prob goin to check it out for the first month or so. See how it goes and maybe they can work out these performance bugs. Actually it has gotten to be abit better not a huge improvement but an improvement none the less.

Im really on the wall about this game. I do see potential but the other part of me is saying " Its all for not! ".

EQ2 has tons and tons of live events you just have to read the notes to see when and where.

I finally picked up my sword last night and went leveling again (I spent a full week doing diplomacy quests and the previous week doing nothing but crafting/harvesting....and had fun.....yes, I'm scared too!)

Once the open beta shuts down, I'm gonna dink around in Battlefield 2142 while I wait for it to go live, and then it's "showtime"!

The only reason I picked up Vanguard really is because now My account has access to eq1 eq2, SWG, and Vanguard so I figured now I can save money with All Access Pass and GO check out PVP in eq2 again! see how much my old guild is pissed I went MIA lol

Hehe, no worries. With the game "supposedly" focused on groups, Raiding against the "uber" guilds shouldn't be an issue.

I'm just looking to have fun is all, though I'm probably more serious than your average gamer (I play seven nights a week, short of not being physically near my computer....and that doesn't happen often!). I'm 30 now, going on 31 and have a wife and son, so my days of 8 hour raid-a-thons are very few and inbetween.

Apparently guilds will work differently too. I'm unsure how this is going to work, but from what I hear there will be different organizations for diplomacy, adventuring, crafting, etc, though if it makes it to live, I'd be surprised.

One critique I will give this game is guild management. From what I saw in beta, I wasn't overly impressed. It was standard fare, and very light on features. I'm hoping and praying that they fix this before the game launches, or even shortly afterwards.

For those looking to get together, what do you want to call this guild/organization? Who's leader? I don't care hehe, as long as the bullshit is kept to a minimum. (You'll always have SOME bullshit when you deal with a group of people) I should be on the game earlier than release (yay pre-order!), so I should be able to get the ball rolling.

I just read up on Housing in Vanguard, I'm in a little more psyched about the game, I always felt instance housing is lame, This could quite easily make me do something I never have done before in a MMO... Crafting Yuck... I wonder though if you can sell the houses you make, if so I can see a good money making endeavor whoever gets there trade skilling up the fastest.

I think so. I only just dipped into crafting (diplomacy had me hooked believe it or not....got a free horse out of it too!!), but from what I understand, the sky is really the limit. Artificers will be your jewelcrafters, boat builders and house builders.

Yeah, that's what the game says when you go to pick a crafting class, though it could change between Beta and Release, but I doubt it will.

Well, you folks wanna go to Woefeather, or do you wanna setup house on the same server as Darus? I'm good either way. I'm not a huge PvP nut, so going on a blue server would probably be more my style. I'll be starting to play on Friday, so I'll try to get a guild name down.

Any further suggestions for a guild name? If nothing else, it's just something to get us all under the one banner and into a chat channel.

Pvp can be fun when you dont have anything to do, but it also can be annoying when people ambush you when ur busy. I had a love hate relationship with pvp in Eq2. I think this game has enough for people to do that I would be ok with a non pvp server.

probably lean requirements at first, endgame prolly eventually, but i dont want it to turn into a worklike enviornment just yet, just plan to raise hell and have a blast doing it. the "rules" are on the site, took me a couple minutes to write em so it will have to be revised a few times

I suspect that'll change after release. I suspect a LOT of people are hanging back, waiting to see if it sinks or swims.

(Not that I have any choice - delivery delays in Hungary are usualy 2-3 weeks compared to official launch time. That happened with eq2, D&D and NWN2. On the other hand, we had no delay for world of warcraft, only stock problems :))

I'd go with a any elf just because I love playing elfs but in vanguard i think they just look ugly, especially Wood Elf's, im sadly gonna be stuck with either the cat race or human

there is a small patch, patching is laggy as im sure half the world is trying it, havent tried loggin in yet

Server hasnt kicked me off yet so so far so good. Crap load of people so its hard to find quest mobs alive but im moving righ talong level 5 atm.

Day 1 done, level 10 ranger, I seem to be having probelsm at level 10 finding quests and finding people to group with, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Binuven, lvl 8 (almost 9) bard, on the Hilsbury server. Can't wait to hit 10 so I can dart off to Leth Nurae. :)

Currently a recruit with Moxie Corps. Seem like a great crew of folks. All formare hard core players who are now with families and jobs and the like and take that into consideration during game time.

Right away, I managed to get in, no waiting. Lots of people around, yet was able to do what I needed to do. Very little lag in areas with lots of people, game ran smooth as silk the whole night, not one crash. Graphics are gorgeous. Playing the bard is a real treat as they've completely reworked how the Bard works. They took the EQ1 bard, tweaked it some and made it into a power house.

Anyhow, needless to say I'm itching to get home and get back at it. :)

ok evidently I didnt have the same orgasm Binu did over the game, Im still having a hard time finding a competent group or person to duo with. ATM im running around with my head cut off looking for quests at level 10

Hehe, you have to explore a bit. They want you to get out and see the world. Rest assured, you'll have quests aplenty before you know it. :)

Follow the roads, see where they go, trust me, you'll have more quests than you know what to do with.

Its a slow process lvling, but thats how it goes, ive grouped with many great people so far that know what they are doing. Only problem is its hard to find groups as everyone has their clicks they play with, so once in a while you find a stranger and group up with them, and once in a great while you beg yourself into a group. Maybe right now we're all too low to really rely on groups so everyone is doing their own thing. That and being ahead of the pack doesnt help.
