I would like to try Vanguard but I don't know anyone playing. Anyone have a good server to recommend or roll with a good group of players that could use a bard?

A lot of us on the Hilsbury server. I know there are a number of people that have started up Eternal Wrath over there.

The crew i'm with now (Moxie Corps) are a really cool crew, with a lot of server firsts and some fast movers. The recruitment is closed at the moment, but I know that the GM is looking to purge some numbers soon, so it might be worth looking into.

the EW over there has nothing to do with the orginal guild and is just a bunch of ex-Final Destiny/RiP trying to use the name. But hey, you can check them out at http://eternalwrath.net/

join now and you dont need to app!

Not sure why you wouldnt want to start a new guild to create your own rep /shrug

My guess would be to intentionally mislead quality players into joining based on false pretenses to try to rise to the top, most likely unsuccessfully.

That is exceptionally lame that they did that. Didn't someone do the same thing with EQ2 also?

I don't really remember and wasn't involved, but the EQ2 thing I think was a bunch of people who had never been on the same server as EW. The VG guild was formed by a guy that was bounced from EW during recruitment for ninja looting an Emp shard, if I recall correctly. Good luck to them!

And Drizzen, all these years later, you are still spelling my name wrong. Got to love it.

Wait, I missed the ex-RiP people with them. Who? I want to remember, so I can ridicule them later for being huge posers.

Niacin (Thereis Nospoon), their guildleader, was in RIP. Can't see their roster because their site is buggy, thats the only visible name.

That being said, Eternal Wrath is like 10 years old. I say get over it. I don't think they did it to make everyone think they were you - moreso they did it because it was a good memory from time past. If being a member of Eternal Wrath was the highlight of your life, you really should concider suicide because its all downhill from here.

I mean clearly the names Final Destiny, Rest In Peace, Casus Belli were all used a thousand times before they found themselves on Ayonae Ro. Eternal Wrath itself was some MUD a long time ago, right?

Thing is, I was in Eternal Wrath and I wouldn't dream of starting a guild of the same name. That right belongs to Drizzen, Squishem, and the other founding members imho.

Was that guy in EW or what? I dunno, I lost track when I left. The name doesn't ring a bell.
Anyway. There's only 3 goals he could possibly try to achieve by naming his guild thus.

1: To try and resurrect some esprit de corps that is, as has been pointed out, 10 years old.
2: To try and trick potential members into thinking this is the EW of old, which is ludicrous at best since even though EW did have inter-server fame (especially during Velious), we/they were never any FoH/Afterlife/LoS whom everyone knew by name.
3: In a vain attempt of fan worship to try and become what your heroes once was.

I don't say this phrase much. It's overabused just about everywhere you go. But here it is. If either or several of the above are true, the person in question need to simply get a life. Find something you're proud of that isnt a copout. Try and build some fucking self esteem and stand on your own two feet. It's not like we named ourselves Landslide in WoW even though we had a substantial chunk of its members.

Drizzen, please don't say that "some ex-RiPpers" started an EW when it was Niacin (who was booted from RiP, actually, I'm sorry to say). If any real RiPs went to Vanguard it would be to start RiP in that game.

Hi everyone,

Actually, I'm considering starting up on Vanguard. If any of you remember me, feel free to direct me to where you are. I have literally tried everything else and Vanguard is my last hope until Warhammer Online. Long time no see, some of these names brought back some nostalgic memories =p.

Seems the game is starting to pick up steam again now that SOE is hammering at it.

I have to give them credit. The game has come a long way since they brought it under their wing. Can't wait to see what is to come.

If by 'came a long way' you mean 'record low numbers' then I suppose you have a point.

Binuven

Actually, kinda weird. Just about everyone I've run into has been a returnee.

The gold selling sites are gone nuts trying to stock up due to a very unusual increase in demand for gold on the servers.

Of course, SOE continues to work on the game. There's still much to come, though much has been done already. Check this out:

I personally believe if they want to get people in, to start offering the 14 day free trials, but I think they're waiting until the third major update is finished.

Either way, it just "feels" better than it did before. Who knows? Maybe I'm just sick in the head LOL, but I am enjoying myself! :)

At this point, that seems about as useful as offering a free 14 day trial to Centipede.
