My 9800 GTX is messed up and i have had it over a year so no warranty. Which leaves me to buy a new one. I was looking at a NVIDA chart that compared them but I know about whats on the chart to ask you guys :)

My budget is around $200-$250, could you guys steer me into what directions I should be going towards and not have to worry about upgrading it later

Preferrably something that runs DirectX 11.

I was thinking the GeForce GTX 465 perhaps?

I am also open to Radeon cards too.

Looks like bang for your buck in your price range is going to be the 560 Ti. Newegg has a handfull of them for ~$200 AR and most of them come with a free copy of Batman.

You'll want to check compatibility on your system though. Also, just because a card works on your system, doesn't mean it's going to perform like it should.

Case-in-point: When I was upgrading my system, I had an 8800 GT (BTW, the 9800 GT is the same card, just rebranded) and a Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM, etc. I got my new card (GTX 470) before any of the other parts came in, so I threw it into the rig I had, replacing the 8800 GT. I expected to see a pretty substantial difference... I didn't. The system struggled with MW Black Ops prior to swapping the card, and there wasn't any huge difference with the 470.

Moral of the story: A gaming rig is often the sum of it's parts, not the best part in it.

Now, I'm not saying you won't see a performance gain. Obviously where my computer was struggling on Black Ops was not the video card. If you're playing games that your video card is struggling on, you will absolutely see a difference. What I am saying is, depending on what the rest of your system looks like, the video card could end up not being the bandaid to keep your system going you may hope it to be.

That said, the 560 Ti will be a strong card for all of the upcoming releases, so.. since you need to replace your 9800 anyway, go for it.

My video card is messed up, I ran a Nvidia diag tool and it freaked out. I get a ton of i think I am using the right term, Artifacts, and games that worked previously are constantly getting graphic errors and issues.

I am thinking the 560 Ti is what I am going to get.
