I may have missed it, if this was already discussed, but I want some opinions from the more computer literate folks whether the service pack I keep getting bugged to install is worth the trouble. I have just been getting the hang of linking crap, and uploading pics from my camera, so I am probably a year or two behind illiterate at this point.
Any opinions/suggestions welcome, except the anticipated "#*%m^" names for being dumb.

I installed it pretty early on (just out of beta) on my Vista 64 bit box. No (added) problems what-so-ever.

Install it, especially if you get those funky "windows has encountered a problem with your video something or other" since installing it I've gotten far fewer of those. I had heard/read some where that the most common problem in Vista was with nVidia drivers, heh I believe it :D

So explain to me the Vista 32 / 64 thing. I bought the 32 because that was all I could find, if I ever upgrade my machine will I need a completely different copy of Vista for a 64 bit system?

Anytime you install a new service pack, make sure you set a system restore point. XP SP3 trashed my wife's computer, but went on my perfectly. No idea why, but I was sure glad I had that restore point.

No on the 32 to 64 bit upgrades:

Kanyli: Is your wife's box an AMD machine? If so, when did you do the upgrade?

Thanks for the windowshelp link.
It's an Intel something budget that I built for her. Just enough to run Office and Sims2, but who knows what she's downloaded or tinkered with. SP3 cut off her internet among other things, and a little browsing showed similar problems for others. I just rolled back and left her system as is - she's not really a power user anyway, so why mess with what works?
