You know, I'm not saying that there isn't such a thing or that the writer of the article made the whole thing up....but
A macro that uses a teleportation exploit in WOW is currently going for $3,000.
This part which didn't add up for me.
1. In EQ you did a google and some research and you could find a ton of free to download bots and packet snifflers on the internet.
There were even open source software on the sourceforge.net for almost everything related to EQ hacking.
2. Not sure how it works in WoW but in EQ to teleport around, people used to manipulate the game data in the RAM on the fly. For that you need so called offsets (ie the address of the data) and those offsets changed every patch. Also offset hacking and porting around was an almost sure way of getting banned. So who would pay 3k for something that is useless by the next patch and gets you banned the next time a GM looks into the logs?
Not sure if its still the same, I haven't played EQ for over 6 months and the last time I looked around on google for this stuff (out of curiosity mind you) was over a year ago.
Someone with more hands-on experience can correct me if I'm wrong of course.

While some of the shock-details might be a bit off, it's a fairly good look at the world of the wholesalers that retailers like IGE deal with.
