In the past they have had to intervene to stop parents naming their offspring Satan and Adolf Hitler.

Sigh ...

"Yes, that's our little pride and joy. His name is John, but we call him Hitler."

I envision little Superman growing up to do battle in the name of truth, justice, and not giving your kid a name that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

LOL , i dont is it any worse than naming your kid Harold Richard? Dweezel and Moonunit seem to be doing ok. havent seen any arrest reports on them lately. unlike kids named Britany and Lindsey.
My kids named Julia. only because my exwife wouldnt let me name her Alexandria after my favorite D&D character. =P

I always thought Rip Torn was a bad name choice....
But can we really say name choices drive kids to do bad things?
How bad are the names Eric and Dylan?

Hey my son's name is Vulak, and my daughter's name is Vox... I dont see anything wrong with that.... Do you? =P

But all jokes aside I knew a kid named Harry Bols .... WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO YOUR KID??? The horror that kid has to go through throughout his life.

We just got Kasey's schedule... one of her teacher's last names is Sealover. Both of us first though sea lover, but apparently it's seal over. What the hell kind of last name is that?

Sealover is predominantly a Germanic name... but I'm guessing that it evolved through a mispronounciation of a German word or phrase. My German is a little rusty... okay.. non-existent... but like many "odd" names, it probably was a result of someone not understanding when the name was told to them. It got written down the way the listener heard it, instead of how it was actually spelled.

Anyone out there know enough German to come up with a suitable word or phrase that sounds enough like "seal-over" to give us some clues?
