The image from this article (http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/26/hate.groups.report/index.html) was on the front page of CNN when I looked just now:

Seems to be jumping the shark a bit...

I just actually read the article. I find it interesting that they ONLY mention white supremacists groups. To do so ignores the fact that even minorities have hate groups. In Los Angeles black on latin crime is a huge problem (and vice versa). My ex-gf's school had to close down 5 times in 3 months because of these race fights.
In my experience, there is also a fairly large hatred towards whites. Mostly among blacks though. I suppose it is not so organized, so isn't as known (Except the rainbow coalition and such which are considered "civil rights" groups) but there is also a lot of personal hatred. More so in the inner cities however. I play poker at Hollywood Park Casino which is in Inglewood (for those not familiar with the area, it's pretty ghetto) and I am usually referred to as a "cracker" or "white devil" by other players, lol.
Oddly enough, the older black guys are usually really cool with me. The younger ones are the ones who use the terms, and are often more aggressive towards me.
Just my 2 cents though!

Good point. Presumably white supremacist groups are considered more violent and therefore more newsworthy.

Probably because Black ones rarely burn crosses on whites lawns and rarely lynch people.

Pretty sure the KKK isn't doing much lynching these days. I would be surprised if they burned crosses anywhere other than their own property.
Regardless of the level of shown violence (I think white supremacists have trademarks, where as other hate gangs just use typical street violence therefore it does not seem as prevalent) they are still hate groups.

No they just seem to burn down their own businesses and kill each other in violence.

Usually based on severe social injustices, in fact I don't recall any time a riot occurred that was not fueled by a serious race based social injustice.

Perceived social injustices are a great reason to riot.

Well the argument would be...forget it...not worth the energy on the low information crowd.
