Did you see the story about the Secretary of Education in California where he was trying to make a joke at a disruptive girl in the class he was reading a book to? She's telling him what her name means and he says ..."it means stupid, dirty little girl." What an idiot.

The funny part of the story came later though, when a democrat in state office got hold of the ACLU and NAACP and they started a smear campaign against the guy and planned a demonstration to pressure him out of office. This all despite the fact that the girl's mother said it was all no big deal and her daughter didn't take it personally and was over it. The girl's name was Isis. So this rep of the ACLU was in the newspaper the next day quoting what the secretary said and saying it was a "little african-american girl." He went on to ask if he would have said the same thing to a white girl.

Trouble is.... it was a white girl. When they found that out they dropped the issue and called off all their dogs. Perfect illustration of the double standard and bias that is the ACLU, and also of the way democrats use the ACLU as their attack dog and smear machine. The NAACP is now saying this is an example of how they defend the rights of all races not just blacks. Gimme a break.

He's sorta naive in these matters..I don't fault him though, his entire adult life has been spent in a university atmosphere, and all of us who have been there know how different views there are from reality.

Give him 5-10 years out of school in the real world and he'll probably gain some common sense.

Actually I have a lot of conversations with liberals.. most of my friends are. Just because you only associate with people that think like you doesn't mean all of us are so afraid to have our ideas challenged and be civil with those who disagree. I already know you're preprogrammed response to this, but it seems from the way you just can't respond in a civil manner that you have a problem with being challenged.

Did I hear anyone agree with Rall's feelings about Tillman? Yes. Is it the minority view among democrats? Probably. Have I seen and heard liberals use the same double standards in regards to african americans, and in regards to Rice and Powell in particular? Numerous times. Is it the minority view among democrats... I don't think so... most of them just have more tact.

By the way his comics appeared regularly in both the Washington Post and New York Times up until the Tillman controversy. He had finally just stepped over the line at that point thankfully.
