I heard on a talk radio station from the hosts and some of the callers, and read on a few reviews, that this movie may be a bit much for kids. I really want to see if, but not sure if i should bring my 5 year old neice and my 8 year old nephew.

Is it overprotective parents or is it a judgement call?

I've heard the movie is too boring for kids. I haven't heard that the movie is 'too much' for kids, just that there are periods where basically nothing happens, and it bores the kids. I've heard it compared to all the travelling in the Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies that was very boring for people that had a fleeting interest in the movies (like my wife who had no interest in the movies, not because it was fantasy, not because of the plot, but because there were large periods of each movie that she stated 'should have been cut' because they were too boring).

So no, that has nothing to do with parents having sandy vagina, and more with the fact that a bored kid in the movie theatre isn't fun with which to watch a movie.

It's one of those movies that you'll want to talk to your kids about what they thought. Whether they like it or not is immaterial compared to the value of that conversation.
