Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, a senior Iranian cleric, has been quoted saying "Many women who do not dress modestly ...lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes." Sedighi is Iran's acting Friday prayer leader.
It is a tough decision to have to make......enjoy shorts, short skirts and halter tops, or ensure there will be no further earthquakes. What to do, what to do!?
Unfortunately, I am unable to copy the article from the St Paul Pioneer Press' Nation and World briefing section, but the pieces there are sourced from the Associated Press, Washington Post.

Well, can you prove that they don't? I'm gonna err on the side of caution and agree with the guy.

I would laugh, but the hard right in this country expressed similar thoughts after events such as Hurricane Katrina.

Any good scientist knows this must be tested (http://www.blaghag.com/2010/04/in-name-of-science-i-offer-my-boobs.html).

I posit it is impossible to adjust the chance of natural disasters by any showing of immodesty because the limit of how much immodesty can exist was already taken to infinity by lubetube.
Which means the end is nigh. The Mayans were right. They predicted sexting.

Ditto! Thanks for sharing.
Also, I am very aware of the irony of the Pat Robertson segment of our population who are blaming Haiti's earthquake on a pact made with the devil; it is obvious there is a shortage of rational thinking on both sides, once religion gets involved in the discussion.

I made a lubetube joke today at work. Unfortunately I didn't credit Malse :(
