Ok, let me explain.

I changed trades and elements in the military. I used to be a Signal Operator and held the rank of Sergeant. I voluntarily dropped my rank to Corporal and changed to Air Force so I could become an Aircraft Electronics Technician (Avionics).

Part of that is doing POET or Performance Oriented Electronics Training. It's a 7 month straight course that is equivalent to a 2 year college diploma program. Needless to say it's a LOT of information coming down range (akin to drinking from a fire hydrant).

So, after a WHOLE LOT of studying it's finally done. The graduation parade is on Tuesday, then I get to be with my wife and boy for the month of December. I've only seen them 9 days in 7 months, so you can understand I'm excited.

Come January I do 2 months of Common Core training (Marshalling, De-Icing, This is a wrench, etc), then it's off to Avionics school, and then the OJT starts! Busy times!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have about 60oz of Rye Whiskey calling me! :D

Nay, no such thing in the Canadian Forces. If it flies, it's blue. ;)

I don't know what's more disturbing....
That Canadia doesn't have helicopters in its Army, or that is does have an Air Force....

We have helicopters hehe, it's just that the Air Force handles them.

You know, if it goes up, it's Air Force! :p

Grats on your change!

Now drop rank again, move to the US and join our military :) I can probably get you a stent in a warm sandy place really easy.

Hehe, here's hoping once I finish my apprentice training (some time about two years from now) I'll be making a trip to either Canadian Forces Station Alert (North Pole) and/or Egypt with the MFO (orange beret's) in the Sinai. If I go to Egypt I might get the chance to work on US Black Hawks! :D
