View Full Version : World Series/Superbowl predictions!

Well baseball is nearing it's end so it's not nearly as fun but still I'd like to see some predictions!

Being from Saint Louis I gotta pick Cardinals for the Series. Their bullpen is sick and is topped off by Carpenter. Add in their offense and I think you have a championship team.

Football? Shit, I'm gonna have to say Carolina. They are my team and with all their injuries taken care of they will be awesome this year. Can't beat the D and with Smith/Foster in the backfield and Smith/Colbert catching the ball I think they should go pretty far.

Football.. Philly(or atlanta if they have indeed improved the passing game) versus Indy or New England.

Baseball, I dunno. The best thing about living in the tampa bay area at the moment, baseball wise, is that the New York Yankees are our bitches. Everything else... quite meh.

Football: Patriots vs Eagles, Patriots repeat, confirm dynasty

Fuck Indy and fuck New England. Its not that I don't think they aren't great teams, but they seriously cannot be any more boring to watch, in my opinion.

I'd like to see a San Diego / Atlanta superbowl, with Atlanta winning. That'd be a fun game to watch.

Minnesota and Carolina are both going to be a lot better than last year I feel. While Minnesota lost Moss on offense, I think they more than made up for it on D. And like, wein said, Carolina being healthy is going to make them a tough team also.

I'm from Wisconsin, and a Green Bay fan by nature. Sad that they won't do a damn thing this year, unless some crazy shit happens.

I can understand saying New England is boring to watch, fairly low scoring most of the time with alot of defense. But how do you say the Colts are boring? Peyton throwing for 4-5 td's a game, spreading the ball around. No defense for them so the other team is going up and down the field too. I think Indy is great fun to watch. Now if you said an Atlanta/Indy game would be fun to watch, I'd agree. I don't think San Diego is more fun to watch than Indy though.

Indy is a fun to watch unless they play someone with a stellar secondary and line, then its painfull.

Since we forgot college football, Univ. Texas all the way !

Favorite team...NY Giants, Superbowl winners? no. Superbowl winner imo...Pittsburg Steelers need to win one for the Bus.

Baseball...Favorite team NY Yankees. I think they will show the Red Sox that it wasn't a fluke but it was a gift. A-Rod is hawt.

Id love to see the Red Sox take the series again, specially if it involved stomping the crap out of NY some more.

For the superbowl I think the Pats again, but id love to see my chargers get there.

That seems like an oxymoron to me. New england is fun to watch because of how just fucking excellent they are in almost everything they do. While the colts are crazy on offense, and quite underrated on defense.(they had about 46 sacks and 20 ints last year)

Watching Carolina go from 1-7 to win 6 straight games and barely miss the playoffs was fun.

Watching the Patriots of late is the same old thing. Bulls of the 90s anyone? =P

Hmm.

Football: My team is the 49ers, but they wont win it. So my second choice is the Colts. Hometeam, baby.

College football: Notre Dame 4tw.

Could care less about Baseball. Sox?

I'd like to see the Colts in the superbowl, but it depends on who they come up against in the playoffs. If they go up against a strong defense team, they're done since any team basically can score against their own defense or lack thereof.

Much like Rams, Chargers and GB it would appear Ravens were a bit overblown.

how would you people have lived through the lakers, celtics, 49'ers dynastys...and lets not even go into hockey.

Kris Jenkins and Jevon Walker out for the year.

Fucking Carolina can never stay healthy. (

Ok the last comment doesn't make any sense. Jevon Walker is on the Packers. Yes I am aware that Jenkins is on the Panthers.

ainwein

I know Walkers is on the Packers, I could care less about them but I thought it was funny given how much bullshit he put up over his contract.

Jenkins hurts though.

Ibudin
09-12-2005, 06:20 PM
So glad the packers didn't fold and award him a high contract but on the other hand he did get into training camp and work with the players. Sucks hes hurt he was the only hope Packers had out scoring teams cause our defense sucks even worse. Going to be a long season.

I was kinda dissapointed with the opening week. League-wide I'd have to say the overall playing was pretty sloppy.

Top QBs like Pennington, McNabb, Culpepper, Vick, all making stupid mistakes and lots of turnovers. Not something you want to see from supposedly playoff calibre teams.

Fandros
09-13-2005, 08:00 AM
Put that to coaching. We also seen great games from Bledsoe, Griese, Manning etc etc.

I'm going to agree with you here. I got my ass handed to me in Fantasy football and I thought I had a damn good starting line up. My guys didn't do shit :(

As far as Superbowl, I'd love to see the Eagles actually win one for a change but my eye is on the Steelers and the Pats. Baseball? WTF is baseball?

Tell me about it man, I lost points playing Culpepper. I don't honestly think that the first week is very indicitive of how the NFL is actually going to end up this year. Lots of the teams that were expected to be pretty good ended up playing like absolute shit.

I think Minnesota will bounce back, it seemed rather uncharacteristic of them to play that horribly. Moss or no Moss, Culpepper should not play that badly again for a long time. Favre played like shit too, but he's been real spotty the past few years, he has these legendary games, and games where he plays like he's a 60 year old man.

I was most impressed with Miami though, and Tampa did pretty fucking well. When's the last time Miami put up 34 points?

Week 13, 2003. The Dolphins defeated the Cowboys 40-21.

Minnesota played like complete shit in Week 1 :( I think that was Culpeppers worst game yet. 2 fumbles and 3 interceptions is terrible. Any time the Vikes did get into the endzone it came back on an offensive penalty and we ended up with a field goal instead. I think they'll come back and be a decent team, I still don't see them going to the NFC championship game though.

As long as they beat the Packers twice I'll be satisfied, no matter where they finish at the end of the season :P

Also, I'm still hoping the Gophers football team gets into another bowl game. Laurence Maroney is really fun to watch when he's got the ball.

Baseball: Hawaii won the Little League World Series. It's been the only baseball I've watched regularily in the last 3-4 years. It's actually been a lot more entertaining than most pro sports.

Baseball:

I think we're gonna see the chisox drop to the cards.

Football:

KC is for real this year. Look for a KC vs ATL superbowl (if vick doesn't get hurt).

Let the flames begin ;)

ainwein

I don't think the White Sox have staying power.

A team that wants to have a serious shot at the World Series can't lose seven games in a row. Getting beat by the Royals doesn't bode well for them either. =P

ainwein
09-15-2005, 06:35 PM
Forgot to add that yeah, KC looked sick on Sunday. Let's hope they can keep it up!

And for anyone who hasn't drafted yet (Mine is tonight), don't forget about Marc Bulger! No one ever mentions him, but his stats on Sunday were awesome, despite the loss.

Yea, its not a bad pick. Anyone throwing to Holt and Bruce is going to have good stats, at least most of the time.

Another crazy day.

Culpepper still struggling seriously. Carson Palmer and (lol) Trent Dilfer looked great. Chicago comes out after a poor showing against Washington the week before and stomps Detroit. Cadillac ran all over a highly touted Buffalo defense. Indy and Jacksonville have a combinbed score of 13? Baltimore falls to 0-2.

Gotta love the NFL. Go Carolina!

Cadillac ran all over a highly touted Buffalo defense.

As an AU alum, I've been watching his work the past couple of weeks (even though I am not a TB fan). Hell, he's looking more impressive as a rookie in the pros than he did in college :)

The two games that made me scratch my head this week were the pats/panthers & falcons/hawks.

Well, those adn the over being as low as it ended up with the chiefs/raiders last night. :p
