Yay soul shard bags for warlocks, yay! Glee!
Its a new set of tailor recipes, they're large bags for holding soul shards. Think the lowest level one is 20 slots (bought from Gadgetzan or so I hear) and then bigger ones from drops (one of which sounds like Molten Core). Really cool concept, because all soul shards created will go into the bag if it has empty slots, and you can hold your cursor over the bag and tell at a glance how many you have left.
Sure would make using ritual of summoning a lot easier. I might actually consider using the summoned stones now, was such a pain in the ass managing the 5 or so shards I'd keep, and if I summoned one I felt like I had to use the damn thing or else it was a wasted shard.

What else is coming in this patch?
I intentionally do not keep up with patch notes, forums, or fan sites for WoW. I am refusing to get burnt out like I have with every other game and just play casually, really really casually. But I am interested what this thing is about since I have heard some buzz about it.

- Two new raid dungeons (a 20 and a 40 man), a la Starship Troopers (ie instances filled with huge bugs). Like a new ZG and a new BWL (ie not easy, not casual).
- They are making clerics out of paladins (I'm playing a horde priest and rather ignorant about other classes so probably someone else can explain it better).
- New BG rewards from WSG (friendly) and AV (exalted), geared for offensive casters (ie items with -resist on target effect).
- Bunch of new enchanting recipes, new disenchant from 51+ epics
- stuns, disorients and all that bullcrap got a new system so different class' stuff won't trigger diminishing returns for other classes...or something like that.
- lots of mods will break since they tinkered a lot with the UI
- reputation system got a bit tweaking, rep hits will go till the end of the faction level instead of the middle of it. For example killing normal PL undead got you AD rep till the middle of friendly, now it will take you to the end of friendly.
- we got one patch closer to the priest adjustments, woot.

Awesome DL. Thanks. I started the Blizzard DL at 6ish last night, and at 11:30 it still wasn't done. Cancelled it and DL'd this. 15 min later I was playing.

57 downloads, 3 rep hits and 4 "I love your ass" tells later...
I think the main achievement of this patch is that there is a dwarf ambassador in Orgrimmar now (I lol'ed).
If both the alliance and the horde are so afraid of the old god and his creations coming out of AQ and destroying Azeroth that they are gathering resources for the war together then we should be allowed to make mixed alliance-horde AQ raids.
It would be fun to PK your own main tank :devil

Fileplanet, Fileshack, and the like are also good places to get the WoW patches.
It's sad -- even after the game has been out a year -- the quickest way to get patches is to go to a third party site.

Addendum:
- Highlevel casters now look like aliens. Paladins have modeled themselves after Doctor Doom. Hunters look gay.

Anyhow....what is the point behind the war effort mats collecting thing?
Other than giving Blizzard time to iron out the bugs in AQ and giving bored people something to do.
It doesn't remove cash from the economy, it just redistributes wealth between farmers and faction zealots/übers.
It doesn't provide yet another way to compare e-peens, the whole thing is anon, you can only compare servers and factions.
The lore part is questionable, the alliance and the horde is going to war together to fight a common enemy yet raids still gonna reduce each other to piles of skeletons at the AQ entrance on pvp servers.

The bags are pretty damned crappy for fixing the problems warlocks have with soul shards. And it's pretty rediculous that it took a good 5 months for them to put in what amounted to *big bags*. Does nothing about the issue that for warlocks to play on the same level as everyone else they have to play longer, since they have to farm shards first. A warlock that can't use his shard spells isn't living up to his full potential. And I <3 constantly losing shards from losing my pet depopping, or not respawning in bg's.
And does the MC bag still take the same rediculous materials that were on test?
As for the collection thing, it's just sad. There could have been so many interesting or creative ways to do the 'opening gates', but they pull this. And if anything, it seems it would add more gold to the economy. Thanks to the fun of turning in 20 runecloth for a 1-2g item, and 10 insignias(30 of which gives you another 1-2g item to sell).

I really did not pay much attention to this patch, and continue spending a lot of time in Felwood (one of my favorite zones) farming the Ironwood Caves, and occasionally the Toxic Horrors for Essence drops.
Suddenly, the zone is full of people doing raids for Timbermaw faction, and seldom are there less than a dozen level 60's in zone, mostly warlocks. Hmmm, I know I need to finish out faction to Friendly for my Warbear leatherworking recipes, but I was really surprised to see so many suddenly wanting that faction fixed. Also, lots of folks whining about 60's farming Fel-Cloth? Is this a result of the patch?
Guess I need to pay more attention, altho I too am trying to stay casual with my time in this game. (Did make 60 without a single group on my Alliance Rogue tho)

Im pretty unhappy with the SnD nurf in 1.9.
I was happy with the warrior nurf though :devil
Hope they fix the deserter debuff for BG's. There is a pretty bad bug where lots of alliance have been locking up in BG's since 1.9 came out. When we are able to get back in we all have the debuff. If you have to camp out to fix a bug so you can be invited...you get a debuff etc etc.
Also for a while there 60's were getting put into BG's with level 30's :devil

But you've gotta admit the hilarity that ensued was quite amusing.
