Ok so I played WoW last night for the time, and have now played both. I must say I was very impressed with WoW's smoothness; I think SoE has a ways to go.

Anyone else played both yet?

Saw a review for EQ2 in my GameInformer Magazine and the author seemed to have only good things to say about EQ2.

I have played both. I paid for my World of Warcraft Collectors Edition and cancelled my Everquest 2 preorder.

I hate Gamecube too, I didn't even bother when I saw the silly titles available. I will stick to my PS2 and Xbox. When I think of Gamecube and Nintendo these days I think of little kids

Heh Aurron I feel about the same way.

I love WoW, though ... Everquest 2 promises to have more endgame support and won't grow old as fast I bet.

That sounds a lot more like opinion than fact, based on everything I've read lately.

Wanna back that up with a link or two?

I don't see how it could possibly be a 'review' when the game is still in beta? I'm sure Gameinformer just wanted the exclusive first review or something, so of course they aren't going to say the game sucks. Or did you mean preview?

As for the two games, we really aren't going to know how 'good' they are until months after release, due to the way these games work. Until then it's just ideas and guesses. They both look to have lots of potential though.

"I bet" normally means an oppinion. I could be wrong though.

"promises" also is relative, depending on how you look at things -- but WoW has a stronger focus on PVP making that a large part of their endgame, compared to EQ2. However Hero Classing isn't released yet so that could of course change things.

You can also gauge "support" by the number of development staff that the game will support at release. Blizzard's development team at release will be smaller than the one Sony will provide. Additionally Blizzard does have a poor track record on timely releases compared to Sony's release-first-test-later approach. It will be interesting to see which one comes out on top.

Sorry, I read it how you wrote it, instead of taking random parts of it out of context. :(

I think the WoW super PvP focus thing is a little bit over hyped. Even in the battleground instances they're talking about, there's supposed to be PvE questing to be done. There's been a lot of talk about the raid game too, including a section of their website giving details. It doesn't look like they're going to skimp on that at all. It's just the popular thing to hearsay on all the message boards, it seems.

One of the main (and smart reasons) they lifted the NDA on WoW, is that they'd gain a immense amounts of "fanbois". Interviews, screenshots, etc., aren't going to really help evaluate EQ2 honestly.
