Lots of rumors tonight. First a guildmate of mine / GM on WoW said they got an e-mail today that stated BC wouldn't be released in '06.

Now on the forums there's a lot of folks saying they work at a EBGames or a Gamestop and that they got an e-mail from Vivendi saying they aren't going to release until Summer '07.

I figure big news like this, since they promised their investors it'd be released Q4 2006 and reported their earnings based on that release, it'd be public somehow - especially to the stockholders. Called into Fox's assignment desk and sure enough Vivendi just announced this evening that they will be holding a press conference later this week in Irvine, California.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Blizzard Entertainment® today announced that the release date for World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade™, the highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft, will be in January 2007. By adding a few extra weeks to the development cycle beyond its original target date, Blizzard will be able to extend the closed beta test and further refine the new content that will ship with the game.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we’re excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve.”

Blizzard began the closed-beta phase of testing on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade earlier this month. The January 2007 release window will allow extra time for current beta testers to participate in the final stages of development and continue providing valuable feedback.

Further information on specific worldwide release dates, pricing, and other details will be announced in the near future.
It really isn't ready yet anyway. It's amazing so far, but needs a lot of tuning and bug fixes. Releasing in November was going to be a mistake.

Oy, that sucks.

I've pretty much just stopped raiding now these days tho, and am guildless as a result. Damned mandatory raiding schedule!

I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be playing WoW, though I havent explored the horde side very much. Maybe I'll roll horde on a server where there is actually a decent horde population. On my server, Stormrage, horde is almost non-existant, which is really a shame.

I was hoping that the BC expansion would be out and get me "re-interested" in playing around with being a lowbie again. Bleh.

Sigh. Reactivated in hopes of playing the expansion sometime this year. Back to the shelf with WoW. = /

Sucks in away, but oh well. Gives me more time to level up. just re-started due getting account hacked. so BC really wont effect me and my friends much.
and Geina I found my passion playing Horde side on a PVP server.
