Just trying to get a sense of where everyone is. Vote in the poll if you play one or more of the the choices.

Just canceled my EQ accounts the first week of January after seven years.
Play WoW now when I have some free time and want to screw around, since you can do so much as a solo player.

I play Vanguard as my time allows, getting left in the dust from some of my guildies, but I dont care, it's still fun for me.
Havent played EQ in uhhh...4 years? now, something like that. Gave up on WoW almost 2 years ago now but still keep in touch with many of the guildies and may go back for fun some day.

I float between WoW and EQ2 when new content is released in either game LOL :) But am currently firmly in EQ2.

I've had multiple max level chars in WoW, and one in EQ2.
If PvP is your thing, stick with WoW. For PvE, I much prefer EQ2. The mentoring system alone owns the shit out of WoW, not to mention all the nostalgic Heritage Quests and old dungeons.

I should mention that the old Breath of Fire Playstation games have always been a fun alternative for me from the online stuff.

I dunno about the other games, but woW pvp is all about rock/paper/sissors, lucky dice rolls, and terrible balance. PvP is just retarded right now, and blizzard admitted they aren't going to be putting any resources into it until the expansion.
So if pvp is your thing, I wouldn't bother with WoW.

you forgot resiliance DiscW My main is a 70 enhancement Shaman unarguable the most Pwnable and broken class PvP wise. but with Gladiators axes X2 and 2 pieces of S2 that = 133 or so resiliance i'm noticing a differance. no really i live about 3-4 seconds longer than before.
Contrast that with my rogue =) wich at 41 took a 50 hunter w/pet to 10% w/out a stealthed opening move. azzbag put an immolation trap at my feet while i was eating a sandwich in Ratchet to flag me.
Pvp in WoW is getting some tweaks in 2.4 so while currently off-balance its still alot of fun. 1V1 not so much. but in BG's and group play very viable.

I play a 80 Templar on the Mistmoore server in EQ2. Raid 3 days a week and 3/4 of the way done with my Epic. Spring and summer coming up though means less play time. When I'm slum'n and not in the mood for eq2 I play Lotro.. great game.

False. Will some teams be stacked agianst you? Sure. There's some skill to be had in the higher brackets and mirror matches are pretty common though. 2's is all about the sl/sl lock/resto druid but 5's you have much more variety. 3's is pretty interesting. Elemental shaman/ret paladin/ms warrior vs. ss rogue/fr mage/disc priest teams are pretty hilarious.
And BG's are okay if you take it in moderation. If you can't pug it, trade channel premades are okay. And there's something magical about corpse camping rival guilds members if you happen to play on a pvp server.
Don't get me wrong, there's tons of changes I would make to the system, but as far as MMO pvp goes right now, WoW is about it for mainstream games.
As for other games and pvp...
Eve is okay as well if you don't mind watching 3 months of your game life go out the door when some kid catches you with your pants down.
Isn't a whole lot besides that out there though. War/AoC we'll see, but both games are shaping up to be a joke.

God, I can't believe so many people still play WoW. The endgame is so fucking repetitive. I think I did Karazhan 100 times before I realized there must be better games out there. I have a lot of hope for Warhammer.

Honestly I can't see playing WoW for any reason other than PvP and checking out the sparse new content that gets released. But of all the games I have played I much preferred WoW's PvP, it was fun, fast, and worthwhile.
EQ2 is holding me again at the moment however. I'm close to finally finishing my epic on my pally but I've been levelling a fury b/c we deserately need healers who raid regularly so when I get to 80 I'll probably betray her to a warden. We have a gazillion damn pallies in my guild =\

Well with up to date insurance, Dying in eve isn't too bad although you'll lose any implants that you have. It's an acquired taste but a very deep game if you play it long enough and are in a good Corp.
Was playing WoW off and on, but tried EQ2 again and am currently hooked on it. Canceled the WoW accounts for the time being as i didn't see the sense in keeping it up when i only played/soloed on it only a few hours a week and was spending alot more time in EQ2.
The one thing i really do miss in EQ2 are the beastlords, and hopefully they'll have some sort of non-unbalancing equivalent out some day.
I also agree that LoTRO is fun, although i haven't been on in a bit. (Got the pay one time only subcription, so i only have to pay for any expansions that come out from now on. Great, great deal considering it's a decent and fun game.

False.... .
Yeah, you're pretty much right. That was basically a hyperbole-filled rant brought on by a couple weeks of getting trained by double melee in 75% of my 3's games. Being stuck on a terrible, terrible pve server makes you an angry person. The number of quality pvpers is probably in the range of 15-20, and most are either douches, don't play much, or spend almost all of their time on raiding.
If there's still no sign of pve->pvp transfers as it gets closer to the expansion I might just reroll somewhere. The thought of re-leveling and gearing up on a server where I don't know anyone is painful to think about though.

I now Play on "the venture company" server on WOW as a hybrid Rogue named Bende.
If it wasnt for full time PVP it would be a very boring game fast.
But to me PVP in WOW is amazing and very well done.

Playing WoW, mostly casually now. Purely by chance I ended up in the same guild as Aginohr for a while.

80 inquis on Perma a few kills away from his Epic... just got bored.
Back to WoW with a 70 Hunter, mixed PVP and PVE. It's fun for the time being.
Will see what AoC is like, but I am not expecting anything amazing...

Still rocking and rolling in Vanguard. Pretty much in Ancient Port Warehouse everynight, with the exception of some crafting (trying to get to 50 so I can use some crafting drops) and helping folks with their flying mount quests. The quest armor in Vanguard is VERY similar to the quest armor in EQ from the velious days, only that the other components besides the molds are aquired from diplomacy and crafting.

EQ2 still for me and going totally addicted again :(
80 pally w/epic working on mythical
79 warden very close to 80
I don't think I could even remember how to play EQ1 anymore but it is nice to reminisce about the old days. There isn't anything on the horizon that appeals to me except the WoW expansion, but then EQ2 also has a new one coming out in November too.
