View Full Version : [WoW] Experiences with bnet kiddies (split from server locals)

There are six of us former AC/CoFE on Alleria (so far, several others have expressed interest), and we don't give a rat's ass whether we "matter" or not ;). It seems to be a friendly server, at least on the Horde side; we're at about a 3.5:1 server population imbalance in favor of the Alliance, which has its drawbacks (one learns to tune out the near-continuous "The Crossroads is under attack!" spam while travelling through the area, but we have some lively pvp at Tarren Mill/Hillsbrad almost nightly) but the Horde side appears to be developing into a nice tight little community. Almost everyone I've actually grouped with has been courteous and reasonably intelligent, despite all the warnings about WoW being invaded by the "bnet kids"...

Regards,
Nydia

Nydia,

I have to admit I agree with you. I have not ran into anyone who acts like everyone says people who play WoW do. Maybe I'm not high enough level yet, who knows but so far I have found the game most enjoyable and not any twits. Of course I can say the exact same things about EQ2 though :)

Moral of the story, never believe what you hear find out for yourself.

"bnet kiddies" invading WoW was imagined up by the people who are pro-EQ2. Sort of like the fact that WoW is going to be a cheatfest.

I've ran into plenty of retards. It seems like every pickup group I get involves people who lack reading comprehension skills and are completely unable to communicate. I can't count how many times I've told a group to do something, and then five minutes later:

"Are you almost here?"

"where?!!"

"Scroll up you fucking idiot I said it five times".

Not meaning to succumb to generalizations or anything, but I'd have to say the average intelligence of a World of Warcraft player seems to be below what I witnessed in Everquest.

This is probably why, I have thusfar only grouped with friends, although on occassion I have helped someone with killing a named mob if they asked.

/shrug guess I'm lucky

The only retards I have encountered are the alliance players who constantly roam The Barrens and are 20-30+ trying to pick on people in thier teens, dumbasses.

I've met a large amount of retards, but also lots of competent people too. And thankfully, most of the retards did what I told them to after I yelled at them for a little bit, and it made the group work. :devil

I just avoid anyone that says "u", "ur", "ne", etc. Haven't had any trouble at all with retards in groups, following that rule.

... "u", "ur", "ne", etc. ....

My personal favorite.... "wut"

as in: "wut the hell u doin"

I've ran into plenty of retards.

That's because you play on Elune. Huhu.

By far the weirdest people I've met are the Asian farmers. They rarely, if ever, say anything in English, farm Azshara and Blasted Lands 24x7, and spontaneously challenge you to duels every 20 minutes.

Funniest example thereof was a 60 warrior who dueled me at 54 (also a warrior). I was on the phone at the time, and straight up jacked him while one playing one handed. He obviously didn't like that much because he followed me around for 30 minutes trying over and over again to beat me until he had to train hyppogryhs on me to win. I finally got some peace, but for the remaining hour I was there I heard "60 warrior has been defeated by 57 shaman" about 40 times.

On the other end of the spectrum I've run into quite a few articulate, level-headed people, one of whom shamed me into typing better because he capitalized the first word in every sentence like a normal person. Eerie!

This weekend I made a small observation...of course it's just what I noticed and therefore not scientific.......

I made a Gnome just b/c and I noticed that there are a slew of idiots, kiddies, and whinners on the Alliance side. I have never seen so much begging in the General channels or whinning over mining nodes, mobs, etc. The l337 speak was rampant and the zones were crowded. Just an observation and in my book explains allot :D I will stick to the baddies.

I ran into this retard on Elune who's name was "Coolestname".

It seems there are a lot of "battle.net kiddies" running around there :(

All the Bnet kiddies are now all grown up, so henceforth, bnet kiddies no longer exist and WoW is a safe place for all. Tyvm.
