I don't mind it really anymore.... of course I have learned to get online at times when I don't experience it. And I have found playing on the Alliance side I have very minimal wait times for BG instances :D Last night I saw 6 War Song Gulchs going on my server Kirin Tor and my waits were under 2min every time I went to queue.

Last night was really good on Elune for the 40 - 49 Horde set. I think I got almost 15 BG's in last night with very minimal ( read barely had time to find my slippers) wait time. Was alot of newer folks in the BG last night tho. With us actually losing 1 because everyone wanted to fight like the Alliance. Yanno the drill...everyone run for flag...then run off and hide and send waves of 3 to recover your own flag.....makes for a long BG.

Yes I have been in those BGs :(
Definitely have found that the middle of the field and a good rogue will win the game. Getting others to get on the same page is the hardest part though. There is always some ass who wants to do it the opposite of the other 9 players.

Man, queue times on Stormrage are outrageous. Poor Horde just dont have enough peeps. Its not uncommon for AB (if horde ever wants to play) queue times to be 2 hours.

Lucky. I'm on Alliance Bloodhoof, and my AVERAGE Alterac wait is 1.5 hours. I'm trying to get to Exalted there, (halfway through Revered), and it's a chore to get a AV instance during the week. I tend to grind Tyr's hand or Farm in EP for scourgestones and Larval Acid during that time, so my bank account's fat, but it's a boring wait to be honest. Once in, it's a hoot though. I was in an instance of AV that went 17 hours it was so well balanced. I was only in for the last 4 (we won!), but it was KICK ass..
We won on a last minute addition of Commandos, and I was one of three grinding the quest to get them done. The three of us followed them to the battle, and rode into the Horde base with a whole bunch of our NPC friends. It was thrilling. This is really the best PVP since DAoC. I'd still love to see DAoCish keeps in these BGs. I played a rogue to 50 there, and the ability to climb walls, stealth in and assassinate key people was a real rush!

WArsong is a nightmare....before last transfer, we had 1100 queues on weekend nights. Just to log on to the damn game.

OK I'm a noob on WoW just started, and still learning. How do I get into one of these and get going earning Honor points. I've only been leveling and doing quests. I'd like to start getting into some PvP stuff. Any recommendations for a 21 Orc Hunter? Or links you can point me to to help out?
I've only be in a couple PvP battles, and that was when the alliance peeps showed up at the cross roads. It was a case of right place at the right time and being a small fry they went after bigger fish. :)

Nano what server are you on?!?
And Orgimmar has a place in the warriors area for entrance to BGs.

I've only got toons on Spinebreaker atm. A few folks from work talked me into giving it a go. The evil people. ;) They juiced me up with a bunch o stuff. Is there another server I should make a toon on? *Hint Hint*
Though I wouldn't be adverse to starting a toon on a different server. Since I have toon ADD. Only been playing for about 2 weeks, and still learning. There are parts I like and parts I don't, but over all not to shabby. I've not done much grouping because I can fairly easily handle things that are 2-3 levels higher than me, unless there is the odd add or 3. Friends want me to level up to join them in some hunting expeditions.

Nan, if ya wanna ever give Alliance a try, come try Bloodhoof. I'll hook ya up, and I promise I won't bite (much).
Magnum or Allakhazam will get you to me.

Yes if you get the urge, pop on Kirin Tor and look me up as Nurta. You will Sonyy as Nitrosia or Twixta, she has toon ADD as well.

Don't be suprised if you get a whisper sometime. I get much more play time now that I have in the past.

you give up EQ1? If so, OMG I can't believe that.

Na, still have all those accounts. Paid 'em 1 year at a time. Depths expansion, kinda killed it for me. A lot of folks would only do the monster missions. It started getting a bit repetitive. Couldn't find a group in some of the other zones. Started to become BYOG (Bring Your Own Group). A buddy at work heard the mumblings and said 'Hey I got this 10 day free trial to WoW if you want to give it a go.' And knowing me, 1 trip to Best Buy later, here I am.
I'll be back in EQ though. I will probably whittle it down to 1 account though. No more boxin for me. I miss some people from there. Just needed a break before I started hating the game.

If you want to PVP, and not be hated by fellow members of your faction, level to at least #5 first ... #0 to #4 are always so weak in the BG (since they go #0 to #9, like 30 to 39, 40 to 49, etc.) Below then unless you know what you are doing, you'll be pretty much out of your league.
Then, just go to a battlemaster and sign up. Warsong Gulch only requires 10 people and is thus the most popular. You can find a battlemaster in any city, just ask a guard to point you in the right direction.

Actually Fanny, 50-59 is the one exception to the rule. In Alterac Valley there are plenty of non-combattant roles such as farming supplies and gathering rams or wolves that anyone can contribute to the end result as a whole. Arathi Basin or Warsong Gulch you'd still be quite out of your league for a while.
Its ashame they don't have it broken down by 5 levels instead of 10. A 9 level difference is pretty difficult, a 5 level difference is managable. The biggest issue is that people hover and wait at the X9 levels (39, 49, 59) and twink themselves out so they'd ultimately dominate the thing ... instead of just leveling as intended. Hopefully, when they link ALL the servers battlegrounds that'd lower the queue and make this less of an issue and they could implement a 5 level bracket instead of 10.

Wait...
They have plans to link all servers battlegrounds?
Fandros
12-29-2005, 11:07 AM
No, I think what he means that in patch 1.9 they are going to link the ques for all the battle grounds on your server.
So you can sit in one que that serves for all 3 bg's. You can opt to pass on a spot in WSG and instead await a AB if you like.

Actually yes to both. They are gonna have all the battlegrounds linked by May 06 when they release the expansion. And next patch you can join all 3 queues. There will be 5 or 6 BG opportunities by May, they won't be able to have them all filled w/o going accross all servers.
It'll be like Alliance from Elune vs Horde from Kael'thas, not 1 person from X place and 1 person from another, etc to my knowledge.

Sounds convoluted to me, guess I'm a skeptic but I don't see how that's going to work smoothly given the other issues with queues already present.

The official word is that there's no plans to link BGs across servers, unless they've pulled a 180 recently.

Wow, on my server other than double honor weekends the only BG you can get at 60 is AB. The average wait is about 30min to an hour. This is alliance. If you are horde its basically back to back.
Forget about Av or WSG unless its that weekend, it wont happen for us. Also the horde win most of the BG's cept for AV.

Actually they did state they're going to, the only reason its taking so long is because of 'technical difficulties' in doing so. And they know better to say 'we'll have it by such date,' since if they don't they'll get bitched at by the bnet tards.
I'll try to find the quote eventually, it's buried in the boards.

Wether its official or not (though I thought they did make it official) their internal plans are to have it ready before the expansion's release. They had to put Azshara Crater on hold because they realized most server populations can't maintain 4 battlegrounds at once.
