So here's a few more leaked images I picked up.

However, gamespy seems to think its not gonna be Pandas here: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/world-of-warcraft-expansion/662576p1.html

I still say, Furbolg or Draenai.

It was supposed to be Pandarans, but China shot them down.

Pandas wouldn't be cool, in fact it would get annoying.

They need to worry more about adding classes instead of races IMO.

Horde needs deathknight which would basically mirror the paladin (auras and stuff)

And alliance should get some sort of bard or something that has songs to mirror the shaman and it's totems.

And mabye both sides should get a spellbreaker or something of the sort

That being said, I'm glad they are at least adding new races...and the bloodelves (albeit direct NE copies with a lighter texture) are pretty cool. I've never seen a Draenai so I can't comment on them.

Yeah that sounds great, let's just add in 3 more classes, because that wouldn't fuck anything up at all since there's already a pretty small number of classes. Plus the Horde and Alliance should obviously be identical!

So because there is a small amount of classes, they shouldn't add any? I didn't say add 3 classes at once and throw off balance...

But by adding classes that make more sense (IE pal & deathknight) it would be a way to add classes and hopefully maintain some similarity of balance. The factions still wouldn't be identical just like the hybrid classes aren't now. But at least it would add more depth to the game than adding a new character model that looks exactly like a pre-existing one.

China the government? The Chinese population? I'm not sure how that would be a factor when its not even released to the public yet. Its possible, I just can't work it out in my head -- where'd you hear that?

They've got laws against capturing or killing pandas. Killing pandas in a PvP game isn't cool with them apparently. The Chinese government decided to force the issue (much like their recent playtime limits). Something like 1.5 million (or about 1/3) of WoW's user base is in China, so they've got a lot of pull.

That 2nd picture is a fake.

'Bout time a government contributed something really useful to a video game. I mighta had to cancel over something as stupid as panda-men. :)

Because cow-men makes more sense? :p

It took a loooong time to accept them cow types as anything more than...well...what do they do? They occupy a cool city at least. Horns and giant hooves look threatening...a little....okay, I'm reaching here. I still like tauruns better than panda-men!

But, point taken.

Hmmm cows are sacred to India and they have a metric ton of folks there as well ( course they don't have the player base of China).

But like, if you and I don't know they were Pandarans, how did the Chinese Government find out? Clearly they aren't spying on Blizzard -- they have more important people to spy on :)

Given the current climate with China and video games, and the fact that China is 1/3+ of the subscriber base; I'm sure it safe to say Blizzard consults with them before you and I.

Kelraz Bladesinger

Well I for one thing they should consult with me and you first!

The irony is, they have no problem with people killing humans ... but half bear half panda men is bad.

From Sanchek's pic (can read the stuff phonetically, but no vocabulary to speak of):

Horde: Blood Elves (duh)
Alliance: Murlocs

Small script on the right: Outlands

Subscript: something numerous something something (probably something along the lines of... and many more 1337 new features)

I hope it's not a fake. I hate murlocs with a passion, so this would be quite a nice incentive to engage in PvP more.

Come now, that photoshop job isn't THAT hard to see the flaws in, is it?

I swear, if alliance gets murlocs, and I am forced to be around those damned noises all the time, I'll switch to horde just to slaughter the bastards.

The Dranaei would not really be a logical choice for the Alliance. As far as I remember, the Alliance races never really ran into them more than a few times, and that was alliance by necessity. I wish they would have made the new Horde race the Naga, that would have been pretty cool, though it wouldn't really fit all that well I don't think.

The murlocks would be alright, just a bitch to target... I think that Blood Elf's for the Horde is ridiculous though. Horde has cows, undead, trolls, orcs...wierd stuff. Alliance has elves, dwarfs, humans, and gnomes. Why can't they have the Elf's and we get something spiffah?

Being a snake man would be interesting! >_<
