View Full Version : [WoW] Server goes kerplunk ...

Recently my WoW guild decided to simply give up and disband. At least 2 of the 6 other Horde guilds which were even in a position to attempt anything beyond Gruul have also folded. The attrition in this game is horrible, it felt like we had to turn over like 20% of our roster every month.

Are there any servers out there where Horde raiders would be in demand for the endgame stuff (Eye, Serpentshrine, etc)? I can't help but feel that raiding in WoW is essentially very flawed that you need a very specific number of people (25, 24 won't do and 26 means someone sits out bored) and a very specific class breakdown - all of which are played by competant and geared players, or else you simply can't succeed. But then again, maybe thats just Kael'thas and there are other servers in a better state.

70 Mage, all of the enchants known to man (except for Mongoose @!#$%!), pretty much the best gear possible outside of The Eye / Serpentshrine LFGuild :)

Hordeside on Alleria is small but there are several guilds doing The Eye/Serpentshrine. Ruin and Bedlam are in Serpentshrine and our own coalition (Powerlamers & friends) has Void Reaver on farm and started on Magtheridon this week. You might want to check out our forums and see if any of the guilds there (stickied list at the top) might be your cup of tea. Being a release server with a fairly tight knit group of folks, our Hordeside is actually very *stable* in terms of attrition, but our ratio of horde to alliance *is* still horrible (1:4 or so), even post BC, FYI...

We have heavy turnover too. We have our core of 15-20 people and pass the time re-gearing/retraining the people who change. Then one day our core members start leaving too...

You are very right about the numbers, its sad that 24 are not enough to raid. Well, we could kill Gruul with 22 (killed Magtheridon, Void Reaver and Lurker so far only besides Kara/Gruul), but that might have been just luck. And the biggest problem, is that there are encounters which require 8 healers, some others require 6 healers and max DPS, so you are forced to leave some people out sometimes. Unless everyone has a healer/tank alt, and is willing to switch.

Me and Terhas' guild on Hakkar left for a PvE server. We're kinda playing on it with our old PvE toons that we moved over, but we're still thinking about trying to find a decent PvP server. So if anybody knows of one, I've got my 70 UD Warrior and Terhas has a 70 Orc Hunter we're kinda looking for a home.

Nydia I would be interested in transferring over. You say coalition, that mean you team with other guilds? Is there room for straggler mages that play a lot, etc. etc.?

Unfortunately, Mage is the *one* class that we have a serious glut of :/. My raid nights with PL/friends have been cut from 4 to 2 a week because of the fact that there are 7 of us to work in now (I'm running our own guild in Kara now so that's not so bad, but still), and I'm the senior mage by a wide margin. I'm sorry to have to tell you that, but if you'd be interested in hanging with us despite the fact that you'd have to alternate weeks/raids it *is* a nice group of folks.

Classes in which there is little competition within our raid group (which consists of members of Powerlamers, Foresworn, Dark Faith, and a few Die With Honor) currently are shaman (all flavors), hunter, and believe it or not, rogue...
