[WoW] State of the Guild thread

Was just curious how people and their guilds were doing in WOW?

The Third is going great, steady and strong and growing more each day (/knocks on wood).

How are others doing?

We're not on the uberguild treadmill or anything, but Foresworn has had most of it's AC/CoFE friends, as well as a few other friends from EQ and RL, come home to roost :). We've got about 10 folks who are 60 or close now, a bunch in their 30s, and have been doing some instancing as well as hitting MC/Onyxia with another Horde guild on the server (Ruin and friends is doing Luci/Magmadar/Garr/Gehennas regularly now and we've taken one shot at Onyxia so far). Life's treating us pretty well here :)...

Doing fantastic over here on Elune! I hooked up with what seems to be a great group of people... friendly and accessable leadership, and competent members who's personalities don't annoy me. We've killed everything in terms of content currently available and we're just cruising on farm mode waiting for the release of Blackwing Lair currently.

Never thought I'd last long on a pvp server but I joined a great guild that a friend started, we've killed everything there is to kill and want more content :(

Iratus Lepus is progressing nicely. We recently decided to ditch the casual guild tag and are now advancing into MC with our new crew. We're working on Majordomo at the moment, with one try down on him.

In the end, even though many said they wouldn't play, we managed to snag the creme de la creme of Landslide as well as a few other gems along the way. We have a great guild full of fun people and, as it seems, are progressing towards becoming a top-end guild on the server.

You could call my guild the top guild or the 2nd to top guild on Burning Blade, neither guild has killed Ragnaros yet. However they are all a bunch of children and its pretty annoying so I leave guildchat off in another window most of the time and focus on pvp. I wish the WoW community was a lot older :(

I love facing Semedi in PvP...it allows me the fine 5 seconds I need to fingerblast his succubus before he melts my face off.:D

Razorgore is a fucking beast. Anyone get him yet?

Horde can kill him on my server (yay totems) but we don't seem to stand a chance kiting and can't go toe to toe with that many in melee.

The drama on the Elune boards is pretty much the only contact I have with the game now that Immort quit. I cant say I "like" many people on my server. I'm sure they feel the same way about me though. There's just a lot of stupidity on the horde side :(

Also, being unable to run instances/raid groups/pvp sort of limits my playability after getting 60. I can either level up more characters or farm. Both of which aren't all that entertaining for long periods of time.

I've had to entertain myself by trying random stupid stuff like clearing to the master enchanter in Uldaman on my 44 mage solo. Also collecting random matching sets of armor so I can look sexeh while I'm afk in Org :P

Hehe, well the Third is done. Most of the higher levels have gone on to Tainted Glory.

The guild we're currently in is growing nicely, over 72 lvl 60's and growing. Getting MC attuned and will start hitting that zone as a guild (doing it with other guilds atm) very soon.

No pressure, no recruitment periods, it's all good. They don't like ya, they just kick yer ass, plain and simple.

My guild on Kargath killed Vaelastrasz last night. Killed Razorgore two weeks ago, and have Ragnaros on farm status, 7 kills to date.

I agree that the earthbind totems for the Razorgore encounter do make the encounter easier, although we did get down to 2 eggs before we changed to the earthbind strat.

The alliance on the other hand have a huge advantage on Vaelastrasz. So it offsets.

Vaelastrasz is one of the most challenging encounters we have ever done and the most fun. If one person over agros the raid is a total wipe. This will be the key of frustration for most of the horde guilds for a long time to come.

we just got broodlord down last night (shadowmoon), was such a satisfying kill... not as much as vael was though, gotta love wiping before everyone's even in position because someone lagged into agro range running back >< we gave firemaw a shot and it seems like he'll be easier to get down than any of the others once we have positioning worked out.

I swear we're the only horde guild that doesn't use earthbind for razor hehe.

edit: wait until you hit broodlord, alliance have a stupidly big advantage there as well. wtb paladins!
