So Santorum screws the auto-win for Romney. Pretty shocking in my opinion.

Though scary though of Santorum being our president.

There is a reason New Hampshire and Iowa and all of the states we have seen thus far all clamor to go first in the primary - because if they didn't go first, no one would care. These are small states with tiny delegate pools.

Right now Romney has a 47 delegate lead over Santorum with his 91, and a 62 delegate lead over Gingrich. It sounds like a big deal until you remember that there are over two thousand delegates left to go.

Super Tuesday aka March 6th should be a bigger deciding factor, but I can certainly see it taking until June 5th to be decided.

Romney is a one trick pony in that he has broad approval from the big business/monied elite but has little to offer to the social conservatives and the Bible thumpers which also are represented by the GoP. Plus his healthcare package for Taxachusetts is more Tax and Spend than fiscal conservatives would like. He doesn't attempt to mask his rich, city slicker image and rather soft approach to the social hot bed issues. Actually his latest project, other than running for president, is to bulldoze a 12 million dollar seaside mansion in La Jolla CA.....so he can build a bigger one. That along with the vulture capitalism that made him his fortune just doesn't sit well with conservatives of modest means who side with the GoP due to actual ideology as opposed to membership in the GoP being a good business networking organization and power brokerage.

Basically the guy is realizing that he can't just buy his way into the White House unopposed. There has to be some substance there and he lacks it on many fronts. The other GOP candidates also lack so really the nomination will just be a battle of attrition with the winner (most likely Romney) getting curb-stomped in November.

The GoP is not offering anything that we don't already get with Obama. The only way Romney can win is if he convinces his buddies in big business to completely not hire anyone, refuse to invest in tooling/upgrades/property or place any kind of new orders with the intent to delay any economic growth until after he is elected and repeals any regulation put in place since Obama took office. Which is great for the executives and shareholders because running the shop with a skeleton crew at a lower revenue level but maximized profit makes vast amounts of money. If that is the tactic, than he deserves to be shot. Definitely not elected. Still that could be the scenario. Romney doesn't seem to be on much of a mission other than what it takes to get elected.

If you listen to the news media, it was a huge deal for Anal Leakage, I mean Santorum to win, but when you looks at the numbers, it is not a BFD. The one thing I do hope comes out of it is that Newt just gives up the retardation and goes home

Well, Newt is looking at the numbers like everyone else. The only state that had a decent attendance turnout compared to primaries in years past was South Carolina, the state he won. Every other primary thus far has had significantly less attendance than in 2008. Even people who voted for Romney back then aren't coming out to the polls now.

Numbers might be even lower if there actually was a winter this year. There was nothing to keep people from going to the polls with all these sunny, 60 degree days nation wide...other than the candidates sucking.

Everything that happened today is a huge deal. Otherwise you wouldn't be watching the news .... just wait for what will be a big deal tomorrow!

Being no delegates were committed in these three states Tuesday, it was simply an ego-fest. Once they stop stroking themselves for beng so awesome, the candidates will return to the status quo of not knowing any more than the rest of us what the hell is going on in their party.

I am really getting tired though of the screaming of upholding the Constitution
except the parts that talk about separation of church and state, or equal protection, or privacy. These hypocrites are really getting disgusting.

Gingrich still has not stated how he would repay the taxpayers the $105+ million he and Henry Hyde squandered on showing President Clinton was doing the same thing they were; Santorum has all but stated up front that Catholocism will be the national religion if he is elected; Romney has not stated much of anything except what he thinks folks want to hear, and ; Paul has not let us know yet who he would select as his successor/Vp since he may not outlast his first year or two in office.

I was really liking what I saw in John Huntsman as far as a well-rounded resume, but the rest of these candidates leave me wanting to stick my finger in my throat.

So, I can only DITTO the original WTF is with the GOP race!?!?!?
