Had to be started at some time :)

What do you think is going to be the best system overall?

Personally I have always been a Sony fan over any Microsoft product but after owning a ps2 and finding that most of the games I like playing like KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Fusion Frenzy! I gotta say that xbox 360 looks promising that is assuming that these great franchises come out with new games.. Also I've been waiting for a new Perfect Dark game since the Nintendo 64 days, So I cant wait for that to come out. Considering the fact alot of Sony's contracts are gonna be up soon and games that were big for ps2 like GTA are now coming out for microsoft systems i'd have to say that Ps3 doesnt have alot of exlusive stuff going for it.

Anyways before I start blabbing, I am more about what games will be coming out instead of which system has the better specs. Does anyone knw a good site that shows what games are going to be created for both systems?

Last but not least I thought I was told that the xbox 360 was going to be a media center system to.. IE a system you can also record tv shows? Is this true?

Playstation 3..... ...... has real cool grahics......

The 360 looks like it has a few possibly good games. The ps3 we know jack shit about except that it'll be really powerful and hella expensive, so thats boring. The only system I'm excited about so far even one bit is the nintendo revolution. That controler could either be another virtual boy gimmick failure, or one of the the greatest revolutions in games, depending on excecution. The idea of playing a fps with that gives me cream jeans.

You mean a revolution like the power glove?

I took this question to the local Game Crazy counter, where my boys are on a first name basis with the sales staff. My household currently uses the Nintendo Game Cube, PS2 slim, and the XBOX,...with most of the accessories for all three systems. I have a separate gaming area in my living room.

As the target audience mom, I requested all marketing literature available for our upcoming systems and asked what I should expect over the next year. XBOX 360 (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox360/factsheet.htm) comes out first, with PS3 (http://www.ps3portal.com/) and Nintendo Revolution (http://www.nintendo.com/newsarticle?articleid=TfyOgnUc7zB-ZlzdQvMhKJOgS5LsR2nK&page=newsmain) controller coming out 6 months later. Game Crazy stated that my current PS2 and Game Cube won't be obsolete any time soon. My XBOX, however, will need updating. The staff also stated I should hold off on investing in the XBOX 360, as it has yet to "deliver the goods" and may not hold up to all the hype.

That statement is just... so incredibly stupid.

None of the 3 systems have yet to "deliver the goods." And if anything, the xbox 360 is the only system of the 3 to show that games for their system even exist, let alone letting people play them. Show me a real picture of a ps3 or revolution game. Sony has just been showing pre-rendered movies and acting as if it was real gameplay. (http://penny-arcade.com/view.php?date=2005-09-12&res=l) The PS3 is nothing but hype at this point. Nintendo on the other hand is smart enough just to wait until they actually have something solid to show, but who knows what'll happen.

People at game stores say the dumbest things.

Its a media center *EXTENDER*, so if you have an HTPC in another room with windowsMCE, you can use the Xbox360 to display files from your HTPC in another room.

Hopefully the mod community has something working soon after launch to allow it to run Xlobby, Meedio, etc. Cause frankly MCE sucks compared to alot of the alternatives ^^.

That said, all 3 systems are "Equal" at this point, they all appeal to slightly different demographics, they're all realistically equal in power (PS3 vs NR vs 360 doesn't mean shit when they're all running at 20-25% system resources most the time), or to use a lame analogy, it doesn't matter if you have a 20oz or 64oz glass(system) when you only have 8oz of water to fill it with(games). It'll be very late generation, if at all we start seeing games using a majority of the system's availible resources, and even then the different systems will be good in different areas (Like the classic xbox vs Gamecube debate, Xbox is statistically more powerful, but GC can actually display better "Looking" graphics due to its different handling of textures).

So from a smart-consumer standpoint I'd say power should be a non-issue, they're all unnesseccarily over-powerful at this point.

So all it really boils down to is games, If you like "Live" games get an Xbox360, if you like some of the popular franchises(MGS4/FF/etc) get a PS3, and if you like Nintendo 1st/2nd party games, get an NR.

If you have the money, get 2 or 3. Most the major gamesites have a decent list of indevelopment titles for the Xbox360.

Theres little to none besides what we've seen at gameshows for the PS3 .

And the only "Known/Confirmed" Titles in development for NR is Mario128, and RE5.

In summary whenn deciding between systems, it boils down to simple words of wisdom we often forget, "Its the GAMES, stupid!"

The only system I'm excited about so far even one bit is the nintendo revolution. That controler could either be another virtual boy gimmick failure, or one of the the greatest revolutions in games, depending on excecution.

Very much me so too, at this point, alot of people in the industry are very confident in the "Execution", as you put it, at this point.
Should see the internal demo at Capcom, all I'll say is contrary to what most people think, its going to be *great* for fighting games.
